What is your reason for knitting? What do you feel when you knit? Your answers might change from project to project, over time or stay the same. I have knit because it makes me happy or because it makes me feel like I am accomplishing something. When I knit for others, I do it out of love. Sometimes, I knit for myself out of love, too. I knit to relieve sadness and anxiety, when I am restless or when I am bored. I knit to be creative. I knit with friends and colleagues and strangers — among shared stories and lots of laughter. Over the three decades that I have had stitches on my needles, I have most consistently knit because it comforts me and calms my over-active mind. |
