Eleanor Healy-Wills, artist and printmaker, has been working independently in Australia for 30 years, and explored mediums such as oil, acrylic, pastel and gold leaf, while progressively developing intaglio techniques in copper plate etching.
The challenges of working in intaglio, with all of the variables, eventually lead to hand colouring and gilding. 'Ascending Angel' - an early example of this technique.
Eleanor started offering small workshops in etching techniques at her Ferntree Gully studio. Working in collaboration with other artists and printmakers has shown the infinite possibilities of expression in print. Artists who would like to explore printmaking may refer to the classes page for details.
The symbolic use of colour and gold leaf, in both etchings and other media, play an important part in communicating an inner meaning..
The work is diverse and extensive, ranging from traditional to contemporary, where an individual style emerges.

I specialize in floral and fauna primarily but also do portrait art as well. I live in Bremerton, Washington, with my lovely wife, feisty-but-adorable child and an assortment of lazy cats. I grew up in southern California in an area bounded by mountain ranges, deserts and the ocean. My childhood was filled with hiking and camping and I came to love the many faces of the natural world".
