Undoubtedly one of the foremost figurative artists working today, Roberts is included in numerous private and public collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Chase Manhattan Bank, New York; Flint Institute of Arts, Flint, Michigan; and the Biltmore Estate, Asheville, North Carolina.
Trained at Yale, Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia, and in Rome, Roberts creates work steeped in the traditions of art history, but with a look and an edge that are unmistakably contemporary.

COURSES TAUGHT: Teaching responsibilities include beginning-level though graduate painting courses. AREAS OF RESEARCH/ARTISTIC FOCUS: Known for highly-rendered drawings and paintings with the emotive quality of light as a primary concern. Recent paintings are still-life oriented with subtle use of glazing techniques to inform the image. The underlying theme manifests itself as a contemporary approach to still life. RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS: The work is represented by J. Cacciola Gallery in New York, Tory Folliard Gallery in Milwaukee and Peterson-Cody Gallery in Santa Fe. 2008 exhibitions include solo shows at J. Cacciola in April and the Folliard Gallery in November. Faculty member at BGSU since 1988.
