Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone! ❤️🎄🎇 This has been a special year for us in more ways than one, and we can only thank You - our dear fan, listener, follower, colleague, crew member, partner and/or friend. We leave you with a photo gallery of some of the year’s highlights - and there were many! From our memorable 20th Anniversary Tour to creating music for Alan Wake 2, and especially that one scene that already seems to have earned its place in video game history (which just blows our gamer minds). We had a real-world #1 album with a band that only exists in a fictional universe - talk about fiction rewriting reality! This year we played to our biggest audiences ever, both in Finland and globally, and once again we thank You for coming to see us, sometimes over great distances - you are just heroes, each and every one of you! 🤘 For the first time in (at least) 20 years, we go to the new year with no concrete plans, deadlines or major projects underway. We wanted to take a breather from everything, and just concentrate on those famous little things for now. But as you know, everything starts small, and ”no plans” can suddenly turn into ”so much going on”... Look what Santa just brought me! 😮🤘 This is the first time I actually hold this in my hands, we have literally sold every vinyl as soon as they leave the factory. Of course I’m not complaining at all (quite the opposite), but it still feels good to have something physical and concrete after a lot of work. Thanks everyone, and hope you are enjoying the album! 😊 Oh and my yearly Christmas tree photo is coming up soon! 🎄

Superfun gig with @poetsofthefallband in the @alanwakeofficial launch party in Helsinki last Friday! With that show gone Poets of the Fall 20th Anniversary Tour is now totally wrapped up and moved into the archive of lovely memories! The tour itself was a blast - 25 shows, thousands of kilometres around Europe, endless bad jokes & good laughs, every single day. ♥️ The most surprising and awkward moment of this tour happened after our Stockholm show. For that particular show I got the kind of customer feedback that left me lost for words. Here is a short quote from that feedback: ”The bass player didn’t play a single note live. Neither was there even the smallest of efforts from him to place his fingers correctly or on the right strings.” I am more than baffled! And somewhat amused 😀 After years of studying music and even more years working as a bass player on a more or less professional level I just cannot figure out what went wrong that evening for someone in the audience to have felt cheated and thereby offended. Cheated and offended by a ”fake” bassist who didn’t even try to look like they were playing... 🤯 To serve all kinds of customers better and to appear more authentic in the future I can see only one solution to this problem. It is from now on to play even more wrong notes than I already do and to do it with even crazier groove! 😉 New Year’s resolution?! 2024, here we come! Have a nice week, everyone! Love & Peace! Супер-веселый концерт с @poetsofthefallband на стартовой вечеринке @alanwakeofficial в Хельсинки в прошлую пятницу! С этим шоу 20-летний юбилейный тур Poets of the Fall полностью завершен и перенесен в архив прекрасных воспоминаний! Сам тур был потрясающим - 25 концертов, тысячи километров по Европе, бесконечные плохие шутки и хороший смех каждый божий день. ♥️ Самый удивительный и неловкий момент этого тура произошел после нашего шоу в Стокгольме. Для этого конкретного шоу я получил такие отзывы от клиентов, что у меня не нашлось слов. Вот короткая цитата из этого отзыва: ”Басист не сыграл ни одной ноты вживую. С его стороны не было даже малейших усилий правильно расположить пальцы или на нужных струнах”. Я более чем сбит с толку! И несколько удивлен 😀 После многих лет изучения музыки и еще большего количества лет работы басистом на более или менее профессиональном уровне я просто не могу понять, что пошло не так в тот вечер, чтобы кто-то из зрителей почувствовал себя обманутым и тем самым оскорбленным. Обманутый и оскорбленный ”фальшивым” басистом, который даже не пытался сделать вид, что играет... 🤯 Чтобы лучше обслуживать самых разных клиентов и выглядеть более аутентично в будущем, я вижу только одно решение этой проблемы. Отныне я буду играть еще больше неправильных нот, чем я уже играю, и делать это с еще более безумным ритмом! 😉 Новогоднее решение?! 2024 год, вот и мы! Всем хорошей недели! Любви и мира! An album by a fictional hard rock band created for a video game goes straight to #1 on the Finnish album charts. I can’t say for sure if this is the first time this has ever happened, but I can say pretty confidently it certainly does not happen very often!
Альбом вымышленной хард-рок-группы, созданный для видеоигры, сразу же попадает на первое место в финских чартах альбомов. Я не могу точно сказать, впервые ли это происходит, но я могу с уверенностью сказать, что такое случается не очень часто!

Alan Wake 2 is out now, and it has brand new music from our in-universe alter ego band Old Gods of Asgard! 🤘 We recorded the first demos of the new OGOA songs back in spring 2020 (I checked), so it’s been quite a long journey bringing them to life and integrating them in the game as well as they do. I won’t go into any spoilers here (at least not yet), and you should definitely experience the game yourself if only possible… but let me just say (as objectively as I can) that the amazing people at Remedy have created something truly unique and amazing here, and I’m honored we are a part of it. ❤️ @alanwakeofficial @remedygames
