Mittagsglocke
Schlagton: gis°+6ct , Gewicht: 6395 kg
gegossen in Bern am 17. Oktober 1583 von Franz Sermund.
Inschrift: (bersetzt): Gott allein die Ehre. Ihr Brger, bringt der gttlichen Stimme offenes Gehr mit, wenn ich mit meinem Schall das Zeichen gebe. Im Jahre Christi 1583

Seit dann lutet die Mittagsglocke tglich um 12 Uhr und zu den letzten Zeichen vor den Gottesdiensten alleine.

Die Schwesternglocke hngt als Bourdon in der Kathedrale zu Lausanne.

Die Mittagsglocke bekam im Winter 2010 einen neuen Klppel, der von der Firma "ProBell" entworfen wurde. Solche Klppel findet man auch in Freiburg. Der vorherige Klppel war fast anderthalb mal so schwer, und hatte eine flache Aufschlagflche und beschdigte die Mittagsglocke und verursachte, dass die Mittagsglocke beim Vollgelut dominierte. Dies wurde nun behoben und die Mittagsglocke darf wieder als eine der schnsten Glocken der Schweiz angesehen werden. Allerdings ist der Klang fr den Sigristen und fr Fachleute noch nicht einwandfrei. Die Glocke wird nach einem weiteren Belastungstest fr Glocke und Klppel im Sommer mglicherweise gedreht, um die Klangschnheit zu maximieren.
