Artist Dana Queen

Through many years of painting alongside renown surrealist John Pitre, who himself studied at the world famous Art Student League in New York, Dana developed the classical Old Masters technique of oil painting. Great interest in her art began when she started showing her work at the "Honolulu Zoo Fence". In a short period of time, she sold several hundred pieces of art. She was soon in better art galleries (Center Art Gallery, Images Art) and from there was invited to join the Wyland Galleries. Dana Queen was commissioned by the Nature Conservancy of Hawaii to depict the delicate balance of plant and animal life that exist in Hawaii's rain forest. In 1988 Dana was recognized and sought after by one of the largest publishers in Japan, where she continues to be a well known and successful Artist. One of her recent works, "Sanctuary", a painting of the magnificent White Tigers, was scooped up at a Las Vegas show before it could even be framed by John W. Kluge. This gentleman was the first to introduce the White Tiger to the U.S.A. Dana's desire is to capture those magical moments in Nature that can be so fleeting. Her ability to do so is what has established her as an internationally collected Artist.

I speak of the mystery of life and beauty. In my art, I explore this mystery as myths, fairy tales, or symbolisms of the rich experiences of life. By embracing life and art with the wonder of a child, I truly reach the core beauty of life’s enchantments.

Using oils, I approach my work with the techniques of classical realism, placing a great importance on the use of light. I employ the time consuming glazing techniques of the old masters, using layer after layer of transparent paint. With glaze upon glaze of color, the luminescent qualities of light and color are achieved and my subject is brought to life.

With a unique vision, Dawn Pitre creates powerful and provocative images of nature and myth. Dawn’s paintings are suffused with a beauty that extends beyond her masterful blending of color and light. Her art communicates on an emotional level and speaks to the essence of the human experience. Dawn considers herself a classical surrealist with a contemporary, verging on fantasy, flair that expresses the mystical elements of nature and the power of myth as a vision of mans’ higher self.

Dawn was born in 1969 at Miami Beach, Florida. Both of her parents are also renowned artists and their influence has helped to refine her talent. Dawn currently resides in Honolulu, Hawaii, and the enchantment of the Islands permeates her work

As a young boy John Powell spent many hours with his father, a prominent artist in California. John was supplied with a canvas and paints to keep him occupied during time spent in the studio. Such occasions proved to be an important first step in John's career.

In 1949, Zhong-Yang Huang was born in Guangzhou, China. From the age of four, Yang’s parents encouraged him to draw and paint. At the age of eight, Yang began formal training in traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. Yang’s instructors and peers were in awe of his talent even as a young boy. They believed that he would one day go on to become a great artist.

1981       С отличием заканчивает училище. Продолжает учебу в Ташкентском Государственном Театрально-художественном институте имени А.Н. Островского.
1984       Участвует во всесоюзных и зарубежных выставках.
1987       С отличием оканчивает институт (отделение книжной графики под руководством профессора Н.С. Пака). Участвует во всесоюзной выставке лучших дипломных работ художественных вузов СССР в г. Минске. Дипломные работы приобретены музеем Востока, г. Ташкент.
1988       Принят в Союз художников Узбекистана. Преподает живопись в Ташкентском Государственном Театрально-художественном институте имени А.Н. Островского.
1992       Переезд в Москву. Начинает работу над циклом "Сияние".
1995       Принят в Международную Федерацию художников при ЮНЕСКО.
Участвует во всесоюзных и зарубежных выставках. В том числе персональные и коллективные выставки в музее Н.К. Рериха (2002, 2003, 2006), ЦДХ на Крымском Валу (1999, 2001, 2003, 2004), Дом Художника на Кузнецком мосту (1997), «Арт-Салон в Манеже» (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004), «LuxArt Salon» (2004), а также в муниципальных и частных галереях г. Москвы (1995-по настоящее время).
Работы находятся в музее Н.К. Рериха (г. Москва), музее Востока (г. Ташкент), Академии художеств (г. Ташкент), корпоративных и частных коллекциях в России, США, Германии, Испании, Хорватии, Франции, Швейцарии, Италии.
