Even after you see it, it is still hard to believe!
Water Bridge in Germany . What a feat!
Six years, 500 million euros, 918 meters long........now this is engineering!
This is a channel-bridge over the River Elbe and joins the former East and West Germany ,
as part of the unification project. It is located in the city of Magdeburg , near Berlin .
The photo was taken on the day of inauguration.
To those who appreciate engineering projects, here's a puzzle for you armchair engineers
and physicists.
Did that bridge have to be designed to withstand the additional weight of ship and barge traffic,
or just the weight of the water?

TRUE STORY:
Outside Bristol Zoo there is a car park for 150 cars and 8 coaches.
There also used to be a very pleasant attendant with a ticket machine charging cars £1 and coaches £5.

This parking attendant worked there for all of 25 years , then one day just didn't turn up for work...

"Ho hum", said Bristol Zoo Management - "better phone up the City Council and get them to send a new
parking attendant" ......

"Err no", said the Council, "that car park is your responsibility" ...

"Err no", said Bristol Zoo Management, "the attendant was employed by the City Council, wasn't he?" .....

"Err NO!"

Sitting in his villa in Spain is a bloke who had been taking daily the car park fees amounting to an estimated
£400 per day at Bristol Zoo for the last 25 years...

В последние дни у меня появился ряд вопросов, которые мне нужно бы выяснить. Попрошу помочь знающих найти мне ответы на нижеперечисленные вопросы. :)
Итак, первое: Everybody - it или they. Почему, может существует какое-то правило или это констатация факта?

Второе: как по английски сказать: чаще всего. Чаще всего, дружба может продлиться всю юность. (пример, чтобы вы смогли лучше понять)

Третье: relationship(s) - как объяснить, когда это слово используются в единственном числе и когда во множественном.

Четвертое: друг на друга. Не уверена как правильно перевести эту фразу. At или on each other. Или другой вариант.

Помогите, пожалуйста. :)

"Nose" idioms

Example:

Быть во главе компании или управлять деятельностью людей – нелегкая задача. Она под силу людям с хорошими организаторскими качествами.

- To be in charge of an organization or an activity.

Example:

She started off sorting the mail, but now she's running the show.

To be star-studded (досл. быть украшенным звездами)

Для того, чтобы сделать фильм популярным подчас достаточно сделать так, чтобы в нем были заняты как можно больше знаменитостей. Такому кино успех гарантирован.

- Lots of famous people in a film, play etc.
- Множество знаменитых людей в фильме, пьесе и т.д.

Example:
