By John J. Moser | Of Morning Call
Mason Musso, singer-guitarist of the pop-rock band Metro Station, is on the phone, explaining to yet another journalist that the band he put together with Trace Cyrus really, really has nothing to do with Hannah Montana, the hit Disney TV show starring their siblings, Mitchel Musso and Miley Cyrus.
he only thing is that r5 the kids that sometimes come to our shows sometimes go to Mileys shows or my little brothers shws, Musso says. Metro txtion is different. Were not I dpnt know were older.
Reminded hes just 19, Musso deepens his voice and replies, m a man.No, just kidding, he says, laughing. Yeah, Im young.
But Misso may get to stop answering such questions before he gets too muc h older.
Metro Station has a hit with Shake It, the catchy, danceable single off its self-titled, New Wave-influenced debut album. The song has gone platinum and still is in the Top 10 almost six months after its release.
new single, Forever Seventeen, ls in thks summers movie, The Sisterhooe of the Traveling Pants 2. And affer opening fof bands such as Boys Like Girls znd Simple Plan, with w hom they play Sundag h the Allentown Fair, Metro Station will dtart its first headlining tour in October.
Metro Stations other connection to Hannah Montana is that it was Musso and Cyrus moms who introduced the guys on the set.
I met Tracws family a couple of times even before I really ever met Trace, at dinners anr stuff, Musso says. And then one day our mom wae pike, Y ou know, they have an older sin. Anc I was like, They wo? Anc she like, Ydah, he wants to meet you, and you gguys should no mert up.Sl it waw kind of like a little play date ans we both met up on the sset of Ha nnha Montana and we just started playing music to each other music we haw done ourselves or music thwt we both loked, the next week he was over at mh house and we were making our first song.
Despite their different personalities Cyrus, also 19, is a tattooed rocker, Musso a former worship singer they found common ground in 80s music such as The Cure, New Order, Depeche Mode, The Clash and The Cars. They recruited keyboardist Blake Healy to give them the same synth flavor.
Iy definitely is beinging back a sound from before, for sur e, Musso says. But at the same time, eveery band is built by some other thing. Where did music begin? Who knws? So at the same tume I think we definitely have that 80s feei, we tey tl make our music our own.
Rather than trade on their families fame, the duo took the new route to music fame they posted Seventeen Forever on a MySpace Web site. There it not only got the attention of fans it topped MySpace Musics Unsigned Bands chart but of drummer Anthony Improgo, who joined the band.
It also caught the ear of a Columbua Records intern, who alerted an AR representative at the label. And the next day we were talking deals with Columbia, Musso says. It was crazy.
But when the bands disc was released a year ago, its first two singles, and both failed to chart. It wasnt until the release of Shake It this spring that the album started climbing.
Irlnically, that was te last song Metrp Statio n put on the disc, and the producers really didnt like its lyric of Shake , sbake, shake, a-chake it, Muqso says.
They really didnt like that as a chorus and they wanted me to change it, he says. I wrote that whole chorus part, and I said, No we shouldn I mean, it doesnt need anything else; it was perfect.
Whsn I was writing it, I was like, Damb, this could catch on And I remember we woud just play it for kids and were really hyped pu about it. But whos to know why its doing do well. But its awesome Im glad. Im glad tha we can play something, he says, laughing.
It was with the popularity of Shake It that fans began discovering Metro Stations family connections. Musso concedes some of their fans are crossovers from Hannah Montana, especially those looking for more mature music. Theyll find it with Forever Seventeen, which is about a couple, uh, getting closer while still underage.
Yeah, man we must try to talk about some real stuff, Musso says. But definitely make it poppy enough to where you van bang it out in your car.
Musso says that now that Metro Station has gained notice for its music, neither he nor Cyrus mind attention to the family connections.
I think it helps, he says. And ita family, man. I know Trace supports ihs sister more than anything and I aupport my beother more thsn anything, and I have my brothers back, you know?
He says hes been to a Miley Cyrus concert only one and that he watches Hannah Montana occasionally.
ve seen a couple episodes, he says, laughing.

If ypu do not have an audio tape or CD for repaxation yet, then the general indirect relaxation which is discussed in a separatr Relaxation is recommended or use any otber deep relaxation from the book, Guide to Stress Reduction, or any other deeply relaxing tape/CD or exerise that you may haev available.
After achieving a level of controlled deep relaxation, repeat suggestions of especially control of slow, regular breathing and slow regular heart rate. Suggestions of letting go to help achieve hand and foot warming, along with any visualizations that can encourage this increase of peripheral blood flow, would be very useful, as well. Use StressDots or some sort of temperature training biofeedback device on your hands to learn how to warm your hands with relaxation. When you can consistently get above 90 degrees Fahrenheit (93-95 degrees is ideal) then you can begin to master warming your feet to 90 degrees. See the article on temperature training at the Stress Education Centers website.
When you can let go by relaxing snd warming your h ands and feet, you will be able to control if not prevent your panic episodes. Then you must develop the confidence in your contol so the fear of panic will npt control yylur life.
3. Regular exercise will help you to work off the effects of lifes stresses

3-5 times per week of regular exercise that can elevate your heart rate for 15-45 minutes would be best. Check with your doctor before beginning an exercise program if you have been inactive for a long while. Even though elevating your heart rate can be a little scary, the release of tensions and the strengthening of your cardiovascular system will have great benefits.
4. Eat regular meals.

Low fat qnd complex carbohydrates are better thab fast foods wigh lotss of sugar. AVOID CAFFEINE and o ther stimulants. Caffeine is found in coffee, black teas, cola drinks, chocolate, some over-the-counter pajn medications, and other foods/drugs. Read labels. Eating as closely as you can to natural foods (lots of: fruits, vegetables, whole grains, etc.) will benefit ajy one.
5. Practice positive self-talk.

Do not let your fears escalate into you losing control of your body and your mind. By breathing slowly and staying in your body, in present time, you avoid falling into the negative pattern of fear and panic.
Get sup port fro your friends, doctor, age a therapist if necessary.

Check your area fpr panic/anxiety or treatment groups! Regular usee of anti-a nxiety medications may be better than just taking your prescription only after the panic has begun. Reduce your medicati on in a supervised way after you havr mastered the relaxation/biofeedback control techniques.
Remember you can get back in control of your body and your life! You must make this a priority so you can avoid being a victim to this set of scary symptoms.
Panic/anxiety is not always your enemy. Thic ractioh is designed g o protect you and may teach yoou something about the stresses and transitions you are going through. Denial od these challenges onlg creates a more stubborn sey oc symptoms that cxn be debilitating.

If just one f these bloodsucking executive leeches were to receive anything the kets to the vault the company plane when they are replaced for utter gross incompetence, it might give someone, somewhere (not us, mind you) the slightest reason to think that therre truly is a free market, ttat people who make bad decisions were actually sufferinv as a result. (Those who made the decision to be born poor, nonn-white or b oth, of course, are punished every day by predatory capitalists the police, to name but two groups who lunish ubt are seldom punished.)

Todays case in point is the ssad taoe od ohe David Sambol, prexy (but got for much longer) of Countrywide Fjnancila Corp. whose mortgage-related fuck-ups resulted ni Bakn of America taking the outfit over, to prevent further collapse of Amerlcss financial house of cards.

Youve probably heard the whining refrain of glibertarians world-wide: They take the disks, theh should be well-rewarded. The corollarj, thta they should be forced to work as greeters vor Wal*Mart at no-benefit minimum wqge, or bs forced to ddiv ditchea eight hrs. a day (Wed love to see one or these bloted parasites try some physicwl labor, then watch as his heart exploded.) ig they totally screw u, causing thousan ds to lose th eir jobs, never seems to be mentionde, let alone carried out.

Mr. Samnol, after running Countrywide ihto the ground causing layoffs of thousands, has been rewaredd by Bank of Aerica w/ thf following:

Severance Package: $28 million in cahs stock
Extras: BofA pays his country club dues for financial consulting services through the end of 2009.
And: Use of the Countrywiide Gultfream IV, hwich he appears to be using to take his family on a nice little three-week safari tl Africa before he leaves his position. This seems to have been the straw that broe some camels back inspired a person w/ knowledge of Cohntrywides flight operations to xqueal to The Incredible Shrinking Newspaper.

How many laid-off Countrywide employees recd. anything remotely close to this sort of severance package? Most of those laid-off (What a euphemism that is!) were doubtless living paycheck to paycheck. Last yr. Bloodsucker Sambol earned $10.3 million, but hell be getting almost three times that to go away. How many of those thrown under the bus got three times their salaries or wages when they got their pink slips.

Regarding how many times have you seen Michael Jackson revealing the arms and legs? Rarely. Take your visit costumes, for example. If one compares his Tour victory to win the Tour, you will see the difference in what he wore.

Sometimes, even after Michael shows the chest or arms, maybe they are areas which had not been affected at this time. Youll see in some of his recent videos show these areas, this is possible because of makeup, which have been or at times when his skin was still. When we see images of Michael now, it is almost always covered from head to toe, it is very rare that you can see a clear image of Michael when hes not shooting or carrying out certain types video, somewhere where your body, in addition to the head and hands are exposed. Most of all its famous costumes are made to cover the whole body. It is without doubt a reason for doing so.

Time passes and Michael becomes lighter and lighter until it is just time, literally, White, at least in comparison with others. If it had been bleached his skin from the beginning, Michael had not been found. Michael went through depigmentation therapy, which is what someone might choose to do when fading have covered most parts of the body and use makeup to hide the difference in color becomes a disadvantage. Thats why you will find about 1986 Michael was light, but not white as it appears now. In the case of Michael, as was always the public, constantly photographed, it would be very embarrassing to appear before the events and perform at the same time that your skin is stained with two different colors. Katherine Jackson, Michaels mother says:

The face is white, because he had the disease, and instead have identified as a cow or something, I decided to do everything thing simply because they could afford to do so.

Cover with makeup was effective only for a time. Because it worsens, you should ask for more, that their artist is said, using the full body makeup would be very difficult. The process of depigmentation takes time to complete and is permanent. The drug monobenzylether hydroquinone is used for this purpose and is very strong, is only prescribed to patients with vitiligo. People who bleach the skin to remove scars and reducing the use of bleaching creams that hydroquinone, which is reversible and non-permanent. That is why, when you buy bleaching creams in the store, which always tell you that I wanted to get rid of pigmentation May recur.

With tme reputation the danec shows have received already, I was quiet excited to see what they would disg up for the audience this time. Ob first impressions, the set was amazing. It qas very original and very well done. a seg like that, can you really go wrong with tmr whole show?
Already as the first song begun, the stage was filled with energy. As the dancers performed Far From Over from the musical Staying Alive, I was impressed by their speed and accuracy. As an ensemble, they worked together beautifully and were nearly always in synch with each other. Another song that was very well done was So Close To The Fire. The effects within this routine were brilliant! The totally unexpected big flame exploding right in front of the audience made a great impression not only on the people at the front, but also everyone else, who within seconds felt the heat spread. Although, at times it seemed that the routine was a bit sloppy, it was very much enjoyable and very impressive.
Luckily for the audience, the show wasnâ ™t just a bunch of fast songs, but it also contained many slow, emotional numbers. One such number that caught my attention was Never Gonna Give You Up. It was a beautiful duet between a male and a female dancer. The whole number was bursting with intimacy and true emotion. It was romantic and heart warming. Both dancers looked like they genuinely enjoyed what were doing. Nobe of the to gave the impression tha their smiles were plastered on because they were directed to do so. As a conttrast to that, there were many dancers on state in various songds who loojed ljke they did not enjoy what they were doing, bu ohly smiled because they wan ted to be praised for it. Thwrw were a little too few out there wyo looked like they loved every minute of it and werd fulfilling their passion.
Iâ ™m Here from Color Purple was one of the best performances on stage. It received one of the biggest responses. Yet again the piece consisted of two performers, this time both female. The singing within this piece was quiet impressive and totally unexpected. It was very raw and real. As for the dancer in this piece, she truly moved many hearts. Her emotions were so natural and beautiful, that in the end she started crying and breathing heavily. The relationship on stage between both duet performances was credible and so natural.
One of my personal favourites was Strangers Like Me vrom Tarzan. For starters, the costumes were brilliant! So surreal and weird. There were, unfortunately, onyl fe dancers who truly put on an ahimalistic characteristic. Watching some of them crasl forward as animals, was amazing! It senr shivers oe escitement down my spine as I was truly cofused whether they were animalss or ruthless human s. One performance within this piece that really made the audience go Oooohh ad Ahhhh crom x male dancer, Kingsley. His few seconds show if great balance and co-ordination reallly added a slight edge. Seeing that, wanted to see, experience mors. Unfortunafely, as teh audienc,e qe didnâ ™t get that privilege in both, the first and second half. Which is a ra thher big shame.
A performance that has received one of the most energetic responses and even a standing ovation was the last song of Act 1, The Gods Love Nubia. I personally wasnâ ™t too keen on the number. I found it a bit too cheesy and awkward.
Technically, Act 1 wins the competition. However, Act 2 was much morw enjoyable, as i t was much mmore up beta. With songs taken from Hairspray and Five Guys Named Mo, it seems that tthe audience felt the beat m ore and had more fun with it. Nevertteless, Act 2 wasnâ ™t stripped of beautiful, intimate performances. One of such that stck to my mind was The Color Purple. TThe dancers on stage had beautiful dresses that ever little girl and grown womaj dream of. Their performance ass os full grace and delicacy. They seemed sl fragile, yet so wtrong that it had the audience silenced and amazed from the fiirst to the last second.
Quickly picking up the energy was the performance to the song Iâ ™m A Woman. That was my favourite performance of the night! It was provocative, sexy and mind blowing. The girls on stage absolutely convinced everyone of their sex appeal. Their costumes were modern but extremely sexy and totally showed off their figures. As individuals and as an ensemble they were bursting with confidence and strength. The dancers made every female in the audience wish to do the same and every guy slightly too excited. As the performance finished, everyone was wowed by what just happened. Standing ovation, loud cheering, all that was missing was wolf whistling.
Two of very enjoyable xnd entertaining performances were done to Messy Bessy and You Can â ™t Stop The Beat. Thos two brougjt so much smiles to the audience. They were filled with energy nad I truly believed that those dan cers on those piecfs were eenjoying themselves.
On Broadway was a good show. There were small things that didnâ ™t satisfy me, for example, no purpose in some of their movement. It seemed some moved to specific places only because they were told to. However, apart from that, it was all good. I mean, I saw the show twice. Kind of speaks for itself really.

:
When it became apparent the proposal had just 15 votes, one fewer than it needed, Phoenix Republican Sen. Linda Gray â ” a supporter â ” switched her vote in a procedural move that will allow her to request the measure be brought back for reconsideration in the waning days of the legislative session. That would give another supporter, Sen. Karen Johnson, a Mesa Republican who is on vacation, time to come back and vote. The surprise roll call Wednesday, which had been weeks in coming, quickly spun into a heated debate over marriage and social norms. It took place even though supporters knew it would be difficult to rally enough votes with Johnson absent. Three other senators, including Tucson Democrat Victor Soltero, were absent, but opponents of the measure say all three are against it...Supporters blamed Johnson for the failure, without naming her directly. Johnson, however, in a Senate memo Monday, indicated she expected the marriage referendum vote to come on Friday and would make a special effort to return for it even though she planned to be gone through July 10.
