ELIZABETH II CONGRATULATES RUSSIANS FROM JUNE 12
The Queen of Great Britain, Elizabeth II, congratulated citizens of the state on the Day of Russia.
A corresponding letter addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin posted on Twitter a British embassy
in Russia.
"I am pleased to send my best wishes to the Russian people on the occasion of the celebration
of the national holiday - the Day of Russia. Queen Elizabeth, "- said in a letter to the Queen.
June 12 was a festive date from June 11, 1992, according to the decision of the Supreme Council
of the Russian Federation "The Day of the Declaration on the State Sovereignty of the Russian
Federation". Later in 1998, Boris Yeltsin suggested renaming the holiday on the Day of Russia.
With the adoption of the new Labor Code in 2002, the actual date and name of the holiday were approved.
