Destine. Part 8.

Понедельник, 21 Мая 2007 г. 19:00 + в цитатник
The young guy who said that was two steps behind us, and I didn't like him at the first sight. He was wearing a very emo-like jacket and leather pants. His strange stare didn't work for him. "Man, what a ridiculous punk," I thought.
Jay got up, came to that guy, and pressed his hand. Then, turning to me, explained:
"That's Jessie, former Destine's classmate. How'sa going, Jess?"
"Swell," he said.
I kept sitting. He pressed my hand and asked:
"Australian, right? Whutsa name of yours?"
"Call me Warakurna."
"Nice to meet you, goddess. Is that your real name?"
"It's my last name."
"Gee, it's rare and unique. I heard a song 'Warakurna' performed by The Midnight Oil, what's it about?"
This sonuvabitch wasn't so bad.
"That's about Warakurna Range in Western Australia, Warakurna Roadhouse in Gunbarrel Highway, that's the road from Warburton to Warakurna city. Also, Warakurna was the ancient god of fire. Clear?"
"Sure. You said 'Warakurna' four times."
"It's enough, isn't it?"
We laughed.

Jay looked at us suspiciously.
"D'ja heard what she..."
"Said you have a crush?"
"Yap, on Destine."
"Yeah. Don't pay attention, she's jealous. Oh, da ya hear that?"
"What?" I asked.
"A motor?"
"You're hearing sounds, dude."
"Nope, I'm not hearing, I hear. That's Page. Hey Jay, c'mon!"
Jay joined us, and we ran towards that sound.

To be continued.
