Born in 1959 at Kaunas in Lithuania, he now resides in Israel, since 1997.
Shaul Kosman completed his artistic studies at the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 1983. A very accomplished visual artist, Kosman also plays various musical instruments, and has studied architecture. Having grown up in the historic Baltic region of Eastern Europe, surrounded by elegant and classical buildings and palaces, he has found a central theme and inspiration for his paintings.
His favourite subject matter in composing his paintings will include elements of architecture as well as various musical instruments, all combined in rich acrylic and oil paint on canvas. Applying very thick, highly textured layers full of vibrant colours are all designed by the artist to seduce the spectator into a heaven of musical lightness and festiveness.
