В письменной части IELTS существует несколько вариантов письменных работ. Как я понимаю, в первой части могут быть: жалоба, подача заявления и the report.
Вторая часть: эссе.
Правильно?
И ещё вопрос: the report меня беспокоит больше всего. Потому что анализировать графики по английски, на мой взгляд, не так уж легко. Мне пришла в голову мысль, что может быть он в academic writing а не в general?
И, если не трудно, объясните мне, чем отличаются academic and general writing.
Я иногда вижу легкие темы по типу отдыха, обучения и т.д., а иногда попадаются темы глобализации, индустриализации, проблема отходов, локализация. Меня пугает то, что это может попасться в любом тесте, а не только в academic.

Знаете ли вы, что... В английском языке выражение «green finger» (зеленый палец) сродни русскому «легкая рука» — так называют человека, которому буквально достаточно воткнуть простую палку в землю, как она тут же оживет и зацветет : )

A distinguished young woman on a flight from Ireland asked the Priest beside her, 'Father, may I ask a favour?'

When they got to Customs, she let the priest go ahead of her.
The official asked, 'Father, do you have anything to declare?'
'From the top of my head down to my waist, I have nothing to declare.'
The official thought this answer strange, so asked, 'And what do you have to declare from your waist to the floor?'
'I have a marvellous instrument designed to be used on a woman, but which is, to date, unused.'
Roaring with laughter, the official said, 'Go ahead, Father. Next!'
