Emma recently turned 30 she tells British Vogue “I got gloomy for about a week,”
“But realised the most interesting part about becoming an adult is most things become bittersweet. I’m still finding my voice.”
She explains “It’s OK if not everybody likes you,”
“So that was a major lesson, not falling over myself to win over the unwinnable.” What else? “Nobody knows what they’re doing! We’re all just a bunch of people trying to figure out how to get through the day.”
She talks about not having worked since last year,
"I haven’t worked since last December – by the time I work again, it will have been 14 months.” "What have I been doing?" "Fuck, I do not know, I didn’t learn a language, I didn’t learn to cook, I’ve been a little… drifty.”

The issue of straight actors portraying gay characters continues to be controversial in Hollywood. Matt Smith will soon be seen onscreen as photographer Robert Mapplethorpe in the biopic “Mapplethorpe”.
He defended an actor’s right to play characters of any sexuality. “I think your sexual orientation, or your sex and your choices outside of work, shouldn’t influence — in either way, positive or negative — what happens. So, to me, it doesn’t matter if you’re gay or straight. That has no bearing on whether you should get the part. Where does it stop? Like, do we then say, do we apply that logic to going, ‘OK, I’ve got a part, and it’s playing a brother, and he’s addicted to heroin.’ Do we then go to people that have only taken heroin?”
Eliza Dushku said : “It’s an important discussion. It’s good that it’s being had.”

The new feature is perhaps inspired by Kevin Hart and his past homophobic tweets that recently resurfaced, costing him his hosting duties at the Oscars this year.
For years people have been begging Twitter for an edit button to correct old tweets and typos, but instead you might get a “clarification” button. The company’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, made the announcement during Goldman and Sach’s Internet and Technology conference in San Francisco this past Thursday.
A “clarification” tool is inspired by “cancel culture,” explained Dorsey to the attendees at the conference. “The other thing that we’re seeing more broadly within the culture right now in this particular moment is people quote-unquote ‘being canceled’ because of past things that they’ve said on Twitter or various other places in social media,” he explains.
Dorsey describes the option as a “retweet with comment,” which would give users the chance to “add some context and some color on what they might have tweeted, or what they might have meant.” Uh, okay.
The CEO says that the clarification wouldn’t be able to be removed, so people couldn't quote-tweet the original and potentially misrepresent it out of context. This is all part of the company’s mission to “help” people be less guarded online, since they believe people are holding back to avoid the risk of public shaming.
