Best Picture-nominated “Green Book” was a “missed opportunity” to portray the nuances of an African American character like Dr. Don Shirley. The film relied on a “negative stereotype” and a “false storyline.”

He praised Mahershala Ali’s performance as Don Shirley, he said the film is inaccurate and a “setback.”

Ali was nominated for an NAACP Image Award, the film’s only nomination.

-In the wake of Neo, more unconventional action leads took place. (Tobey Maguire in Spiderman, Uma Thurman in Kill Bill, James McAvoy in Wanted, Michael Cera SPVTW, Matt Damon Bourne, Charlize Theron in Aeon Flux, and Kate Beckinsale in Underworld)
-The Matrix FX showed that any star can be a viable action star.His masculinity in the film is vulnerable and fluid in his movements and actions.
-"Reeves has British, Chinese, and Native Hawaiian ancestry, and his love of Hong Kong action flicks echoes in later works, like his directorial debut The Man of Tai Chi and the John Wick franchise."
