today in true crime has rotten people's brains: TikToker Ashley Guillard (105,000 followers) tried to solve the case with tarot cards. And made 6 videos accusing history Professor Rebecca Scofield of killing the four students and even implied a romantic relationship between her and one of the victimes.

Rebecca Scofield is now suing her for defamation.

“Guillard’s false TikToks have damaged Professor Scofield’s reputation. They have caused her significant emotional distress. She fears for her life and for the lives of her family members. She has incurred costs, including costs to install a security system and security cameras at her residence. She fears that Guillard’s false statements may motivate someone to cause harm to her or her family members.”

One month ago 4 studens were stabbed to death in their house and the police doesn't seem to have a lead.

Happy Friday, ONTD. For this week's watch party we will be watching the 1979 Monty Python film Life of Brian, starring Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Michael Palin, Terry Gilliam, and Eric Idle.



Born on the original Christmas in the stable next door to Jesus Christ, Brian of Nazareth spends his life being mistaken for a messiah.

As usual, we will be using Teleparty to watch and chat and will start around 9pm Eastern.

Ryan Coogler and Joe Ryan Cole both wrote the first and second movie in the Black Panther franchise for Marvel. The movie had to be 90% reworked after Chadwick Boseman's death, but they shared the original idea with NYT.

There are spoilers for the second movie because a big plot element still made it through.

• It was going to be a father-son story from the perspective of a father, because the first movie had been a father-son story from the perspective of the sons. T'Challa disappeared during the blip and never met his and Nakia's son in those 5 years. Then, he would meet him, and the boy would stay with his father for the summer, T'Challa would be pulled into saving the world and his son would follow along.


• Val (The white US Government lady, idk I don't watch the sub shows) had a bigger role, but Namor was still the antagonist (yes ha ha ha yes)


• The dynamic of the U.S. and Western powers being an instigator (Think: That speech Ramonda gave to the UN, that always existed.

- YouTuber Jessie Earl tweeted (without tagging or mentioning JK Rowling) that supporting Hogwarts Legacy was harmful.
- Rowling tweeted, setting her fans on Earl and bizarrely seeming to claim that dogs, owls and libraries were a direct and unique relation to HP that should be destroyed alongside the books and movies if you wanted to not be harmful.
- She then went on to seemingly deliberately misinterpret a comment where someone had said if you already own the books/movies you can enjoy them, by saying the person advocated reading them in secret.
- TL:DR Another thin skinned billionaire is losing their sh*t on Twitter

-Zaslav has been forcing many titles off of HBOMAX and now its DC turn.

-Hit animated series Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, and Batman Brave and the Bold are leaving at the end of January. Aquamans original animated series is also leaving.

-Part of the appeal of HBOMAX was its massive DC library and those days seem to be over.

-No word on how long they'll be gone but they were likely sold to a different streaming service to get some $$$.

In June, Joycelyn Savage wrote a letter to the judge in R. K*lly's New York case stating that she was his fianc'ee. In August, she released a book called Love and Joy of Robert, in which she revealed that she was pregnant with his child (despite the fact that he has been in federal prison since 2019). She also posted a picture of a sonogram that said she was 5 months pregnant. K*lly's lawyer responded by tweeting that this was not true (the tweet has since been deleted).

She recently posted two pictures of a baby named Ava Lee Kelly.

3x12: White Lies and Black Eyes
While the ladies are still in San Diego, a dark cloud looms above as the group tries to get answers about Heather's black eye; Lisa learns that Meredith has been spreading rumors about her businesses.

Bravo has managed to turn a weekend trip into a four episode arc (and it looks like the next episode will still be in San Diego?).

Highlights:

The most important thing: we still don't know how Heather got a black eye. The other women are shocked when they see it but no amount of questioning by her castmates or the producers was able to get Heather to reveal what happened.

Lisa's SEC filing is brought up so we get another mini-lesson in what that means. Once again, Meredith claims that "someone" sent her a message with the details of the SEC filing (was it shahxposed or did Meredith dig up the paperwork and then pretend someone else sent it to her?). Apparently Lisa's company was trying to crowdfund $25k online. Heather, Jen, Angie K, and Meredith discuss why someone who appears to be so rich would resort to crowdfunding and an SEC filing.

While having unicorn ice cream on the boardwalk, Whitney and Danna tell Lisa that Meredith recently told them that Lisa's business wasn't making any money. Lisa gets mad that Meredith is talking shit about her. She gets even angrier when they get back to the house and Angie K tells her that the winery group was talking about her too.

At dinner, Lisa and Meredith get into an argument about whether what she said last season was a rant or a tirade. Meredith then claims that what Lisa said on the hot mic last year was reckless and endangered the livelihood of her husband’s 4,000 employees.

-The Flash is coming and WB is desperate to ensure that it is an actual hit so they are going all out by premiering the full trailer during the Superbowl.

-WB has not had a Superbowl spot in 17 years but they've decided to spend the money on....this film.

-An average cost for a 30 second commercial during the Superbowl is $7 million.

-Flash has already cost $200 million to produce and that likely isnt including reshoots and on again/off again promo materials.

- For the unaware, social media aggregates like the ShadeRoom, Hollywood Unlocked, Neighborhood Talk, NoJumper, Mob Radio, among others (I refer to them as instablogs) cover rap & hip news and black celebrity gossip to fill a niche often ignored by mainstream media. They often rely on comments & community engagement and have lax "journalistic" standards for their "reporting".
- Case in point, blogger Jason Lee caught flack for announcing The Queen's death months before she actually died
- As the jury deliberates the verdict in CA vs Daystar Peterson aka Tory Lanez, here's a rundown on how these instablogs have been able to shape the coverage and conversation to question Megan Pete (thee Stallion)'s credibility as a victim & witness in this case:

- These content aggregates & bloggers often have high visibility & reach, and their reliance on comments allows rumors and stan theories to dominate the conversation
- This has resulted in the rapid of spread of misinformation and hearsay, including claims that Megan has slept with a slew of men unrelated to the case, that Tory Lanez DNA was not found on the weapon, and that Megan lying about the entire situation for clout
- Meanwhile, Megan is the victim in this trial and criminal charges were filed by the DA.
- Bloggers have claimed that they're merely bringing up things they've heard or providing commentary for entertainment purposes or "comedic effect"
