Тесто:
600 г сахарного песка. 150 г сливочного масла или сливочного маргарина. 3 яйца. Гвоздика, корица, сода пищевая – по 1 чайной ложке. 1,2-1,3 кг муки. Стакан сахарного песка пережечь в эмалированном блюде. Когда весь сахар растает, добавить 1 стакан горячей кипяченой воды (потихонечку). Перемешать. Затем добавить еще 2 стакана сахарного песка. Когда все закипит, а сахар растает – выключить. Добавить 150 г сливочного масла или маргарина. Когда все чуть остынет, добавить 2 желтка и 1 одно целое яйцо, также добавить специи с водой. Добавляем муку (не всю). Затем муку высыпаем на стол и замешиваем тесто. Тесто положить в пакет и на холод: на мороз на улицу или в морозилку. Можно хранить до 1 месяца. Тесто из холодильника разрезать на маленькие кусочки и хорошенько замесить – так, чтобы оно стало блестеть. Муку при этом не добавлять.
Тесто раскатать толщиной 5 мм, вырезать любые фигурки и выпечь их в духовке. Противень смазать не жирно, а чуть-чуть, чтобы пряники не подгорели.

Глазурь:
Для изготовления глазури взбить 2 белка, добавляя потихоньку сахарную пудру до тех пор, пока глазурь не станет густой. Положить глазурь в пакетик (бумагу, свернутую трубочкой) и расписать пряник.

Предыдущая глава вышла у нас какой-то слишком уж серьезной; а ведь иногда полезно расслабиться при таком серьезном занятии, как изучение языка. Давайте я познакомлю вас с иероглифами, которые по тем или иным причинам показались мне забавными, а потому и легко запоминающимися. Как говорил мой чешский приятель по институту Влодек Зборжил: "Передохнем?" (ударение при этом он ставил, как это принято у чехов, на предпоследний слог).




Для начала хотелось бы упомянуть о чисто японском определении красоты, но для этого познакомьтесь сначала с иероглифом "овца", весьма напоминающим фас бараньей морды.

овца была невиданным животным на японских островах, привезенным через океан, а бурное восхищение, видимо, было связано с тем, что в стране не водилось ничего похожего.

the ‘Triumph of Bacchus and Ariadne’ depicts a both riotous and classically restrained procession which ferries Bacchus and Ariadne to their lovers' bed. Here, the underlying myth is that Bacchus, the god of wine, had gained the love of the abandoned princess, Ariadne. The procession recalls the triumphs of the Republican and Imperial Roman era, in which the parades of victorious leaders had the laurel-crowned ‘imperator’ in a white chariot with two white horses. In Carracci’s procession, the two lovers are seated in chariots drawn by tigers [2] and goats, and accompanied by a parade of nymphs, bacchanti, and trumpeting satyrs. At the fore, Bacchus' tutor, the paunchy, ugly, and leering drunk Silenus, rides an ass. Drawing the Sri Yantra When we begin to study the Sri Yantra, one of the first things that we notice is that the largest of the triangles appears to be ~52 degrees, just like the base angles of the Great Pyramid. We see the triangle used in the DC map layout and many cathedral elevations as well. Patrick Flanagan suggests that the 51'51" triangle is proper for the Sri Yantra, and uses a geometric exercise to generate one. Here I am going to show how to derive the template that is used for the lodge floor, cathedral plans etc., then I am going to show how the Sri Yantra derives from that template. We begin with a cross and a circle. We inscribe these in a square giving us four small squares. Vesicas help bisect these squares horizontally and vertically, producing a grid of sixteen squares. [The vesica points to 30 degrees from the equator horizontally and the axis vertically.] Diagonals of our original square mark 45 degrees on the circle, denoting the location of the corners of an inscribed square. The circle that inscribes in this square crosses the corners of the 30-30 square. Where this circle crosses the vesica circles locates the inner most lines - that is, the base of the 51-51 triangles. [If you consider the compasses and square as an equilateral triangle and half a square with the point down and inscribe them in the same circle, where they cross also locates this base line.] Here we begin with the template and work in from the largest triangles. Notice how the large circle touches six corners; the next circle touches eight corners. In this image we center circles on the circumference of the original circle, and draw them the size of the inner circle. Scott Gustafson’s art is filled with characters, myths and fables many of us met in our childhoods. Pegasus and the Muses is an enchanting interpretation of a Greek legend. Athena, the Godess of Wisdom, was the first to discover the winged stallion Pegasus, who was the son of Medusa and Poseidon. Athena tamed the horse, and gave him to the Muses of Mt. Helicon as a gift.
In his excitement at meeting the Muses, Pegasus struck the side of the mountain with his hooves, which caused water to well up and form a spring that would become known as the Hippocrene. Springs were sacred sources of inspiration for those who sought help from the Muses. If they were truly fortunate, perhaps they would also be allowed to soar through the clouds on the Muses’ beloved pet, Pegasus.

As the flying horse of the Muses, Pegasus is a symbol of high-flying poetic imagination. Following in Gustafson’s tradition of The Maiden and the Unicorn and The Pirate and the Mermaid, the artist’s Pegasus and the Muses will undoubtedly inspire flights of fancy for collectors young and old.

Bringing kings and poets their source of knowledge through theater, songs, myths and poetic lyrics. The daughters of Zeus (King of the Gods) and Mnemosyne (Goddess of Memory) each muse presided over a particular portion of literature, art or science.

The muses are also the spirit within all of us that sparks the creative process. They are inspiration, embodying that which fills us with prosperity, abundance and joy. That buzzing energy of excitement and motivation that moves you is the muse within. Honour her and the rewards will be abundant!

French painter (b. 1616/17, Paris, d. 1655, Paris). French painter and draughtsman. He was one of the most important painters of historical, mythological and religious pictures in 17th-century France and one of the founders of French classicism. He was long considered the 'French Raphael' and the equal of Nicolas Poussin and Charles Le Brun. His reputation reached its zenith in the first half of the 19th century, but since then it has been in decline, largely as a result of the simplified and saccharine image of the man and his art created by Romantic writers and painters. Nevertheless, more recent recognition of the complexity of his art has resulted in a new interest in him and in his place in the evolution of French painting in the 17th century. Despite the almost total absence of signed and dated works, the chronology of Le Sueur's oeuvre can be established with the aid of a few surviving contracts
