Hi :) I also wanted to comment M. Chevals pictures. First of all, thanks for the info about the artist as general :) I took a quick look at his homepage and I was amazed with his fantasy. His works are wery interesting and one main reason are their narrativity - you can stare at his pictures for quite many minutes, because there is so much information in it.
Yes, I agree with Sex_drugs_rock_n_roll, the pictures are a bit scary, but I have "a thing" with dolls and masks... But if you take a look at his homepage then you can see that there are great variation in his themes and elements - and they are not sary at all.
It is very interesting to look at Chevals portfolio, cause it is like a tour in art history. There are inspirations form late 16th century and "small Netherlands", from surrealists (mainly) and Dali, from HR Giger (most known as Alien maker) and his drawings reminded me estonian graphic artist E. Wiiralt.
So to wrap it all up - I was very impressed by Cheval and I think that he is the artist I will keep my eye on in the future.
