MiaGellar, My ex didn't finish it, because, as he told me "the jokes began to repeat themselves", but overall I remember him saying it was a very funny read.
Now, about the above mentioned "Black Square": I've heard so many people saying how much they hate the thing or don't understand what the whole fuss is about. I actually think it is a very special piece of art, because it doesn't tell you what to see, but gives you a chance to see anything you want. Looking into it is like looking into yourself, asking questions, finding answers and everytime it is going to be something different. It is also going to be differ for different people.
That's the whole purpose of abstract art- to discover yourself before everything else and that's why I like it. I have a lot of favorite pieces. Mark Rothko "White Center" is one of them, for example. When I first saw it, I couldn't escape the vision of a throbbing heart, warm and open.
I don't think abstract art is my favorite, but I love it for the freedom it gives me, freedom to see and feel anything I want.
