Повторимся, пресловутые 8 стаканов — это жизненная необходимость. «Вода требуется для работы каждой клетки тела, так стоит ли удивляться, что мы должны пить ее регулярно для поддержания оптимального функционирования всего организма», — говорит Белинда Киркпатрик, натуропат. Вода выводит токсины из кожи, помогает концентрироваться и избавляет от мышечных спазмов. Нужные еще аргументы? Вода нормализует работу кишечника и помогает контролировать калорийность рациона.
Жажду часто путают с голодом. Достаточное потребление жидкости – одна из важных составляющих успешной потери веса. «Заполняя желудок, вода препятствует потреблению лишних калорий», — говорит Барбара РОЛЛС, к.м.н. Penn University.

In fact, an astounding 80% of all adults suffer from back pain at some point in their lives. While there are copious amounts of information available on the internet with regards to what causes back pain, how to remedy it and how to prevent it, the most important thing to know is what kind of bias you have.
A bias in this context refers to a tendency to keep one's back in a certain position due to that position offering comfort or pain relief. There are three different types of bias, namely flexion, extension and non-weight-bearing. This guide will help you determine how to identify which bias you have, as well as give you methods of rectifying it through simple stretching and exercises:
1. Flexion Bias
If you tend to bend forward because it makes your back feel better and relieves the symptoms, then you have a flexion bias. This is common in people with spinal stenosis, which is the narrowing of spaces in the spine that, in turn, create pressure on the spinal cord and nerves. In this instance, pressure is taken off of the nerves when leaning forward. This is because the spaces that have narrowed due to the stenosis open up again, thus relieving pain. Leaning forward can also relieve the symptoms of spondylosis, which is spinal degeneration (note that the term can also be used to refer to osteoarthritis of the spine), and spondylolisthesis, a condition that arises when a vertebra in your back slides forward over the vertebra beneath it. The common thread between all these spinal conditions is that leaning forward offers pain relief, while leaning backward will likely increase the symptoms.

When I was young, I was a very happy kid. I played around with other children, had many friends, and while I was slightly shy, I still had no problem talking to people. As I grew up, I learned that being chubby and smart made people dislike me for my appearance and envy me for my intelligence. As they began to shun me, I became quite lonely and withdrew to my room and my computer to ease the pain. I had a few friends, and they made life a little brighter, but I was still unhappy and felt so bad about how I looked, also dumbing myself down so people would like me. By the time I was 18, nature helped me out. I grew into my body, and suddenly I wasn’t fat anymore, but that chubby little kid was still there in the back of my mind.
The young, hurt child inside of me kept me insecure about my looks, as well as forced me to play dumb, with the fear that I’ll lose friends and be lonely again if I was perceived to be too smart. I was failing school because I didn’t want to seem smart, I was failing at my love life because I had no self-confidence, and I started to believe that nothing other than bleakness awaited me in my future. Lucky for me, I managed to pull myself out of the mire and learned a few ways to boost my self-confidence. I’m now happy, married and have a career that I love. I'm also blessed with many friends who love me for who I am. It’s now my turn to help those who might still be having problems with their own self-confidence by showing you a few methods to boost it.
First, you should identify what you’re good at: We are all good at one thing at least, so find what you can do well. You might not be the best in that field, but as long as you do what you do well, you can improve and take pride in your expertise.
this is a real confidence booster and a great way to meet like-minded people. Friends who share your interests can make you feel more accomplished and push you forward. If you can’t think of anything you’re good at, think of something you’d like to do – then go and do it! It doesn’t matter if you succeed or fail, trying is the most important step! Once you’ve taken that first step, you’ll be amazed at how much better you feel, and your confidence will start to grow.
Second, you must take pride in your good qualities: Yes, being humble is important, but if you’re good at something, don’t be embarrassed about it. Celebrate it and be happy that you possess such qualities – they make you a better person. Remember – you can take pride in your accomplishments and behavior while still retaining your humility. If you start doubting yourself because of one weakness or another, remember that you have good qualities and strengths, and those are the things that define you, rather than your weaknesses.
Third, identify your insecurities: What do you think is holding you back? Is it that little voice in the back of your head? The way you look? Something you’re ashamed of? Find whatever it is that’s dragging you down and write it on a piece of paper. By giving it a name and writing it down on a piece of paper, you make it a tangible object. Next, TEAR THE PAPER UP! This is a psychological trick that makes your brain think that you’re ripping up the actual weakness.

You can also promise them a special treat after, but try and keep the rewards to things that involve interaction and aren't outright gifts. That way, you know that the child appreciates the time with you, and it is even better for building their teamwork skills.
5. Chores Shouldn't Be a Punishment
Try not to use chores as a punishment for something the child has done wrong. If your child misbehaves, explain to them what they've done, but don't threaten them with a chore to do. The only chore they should have to do after misbehaving is to apologize, and sincerely. Trying to teach your child a lesson by throwing out a task will only further get them thinking negatively about chores, and interfere with their motivation in the future. As mentioned above, make chores as enjoyable as possible!

6. Create a Timing System
Kids are motivated by competition, by setting time goals for your children you are encouraging them to complete the task within a certain framework. If you tell your child that the dishes need to be done in 20 minutes, they will usually put down what they are doing and get to the task. You can also create incentives around the time limit like a later bedtime or a favorite sweet snack for completing the task in a timely fashion. If the child does not immediately comply, show them that the time limit you set is important by giving them an earlier bed time, for example, or forbidding sweet treats for the next week.
7. Don't be Bossy!
This is the most important and most difficult tip. It is so easy to end up in bossy mode when you are trying to get your kids to participate in chores, but steer clear of a negative tone at all costs! Remind your children of their chores kindly, or list it as part of their activities when they ask what's planned for the day. Try not to use words like 'must', 'need' or 'now!' because these will drive your kids in the other direction. Instead, remind them, "Hey kids, it's 5 o'clock. Please don't forget to feed the dog!"
Hopefully, with these helpful tips, you will be able to encourage your children to actively help out around the house and nurture their sense of autonomy. And the last thing to remember - it's never too early or too late to start!

She told the pastor what songs should be sung at the service, what scriptures she wanted to be read, and which outfit she would like to be buried in. She also asked to be buried with her favorite Bible. When it was all written down, and Rev. Phillip was getting ready to leave, Mrs. Smith suddenly remembered one last thing.

“Reverend, there’s one last thing I would like,” she said.
“What is it?” replied the pastor.
“This is very important to me,” she continued. “I would like to be buried with a fork in my right hand.”
Reverend Phillip stood stunned; her words had taken him aback. Mrs. Smith smiled and said “this surprises you, doesn’t it?”
Bemused, the pastor replied “In all honesty, yes. I’m a bit puzzled by this request.”

Three women and three men are traveling by train to a conference.
At the station, the three men each buy tickets and watch as the three women buy only a single ticket. ”How are three people going to travel on only one ticket?” asks one of the guys. ”Watch and you’ll see,” answers a woman.
All of them board the train. The men take their respective seats but all three women cram into a restroom and close the door behind them. Shortly after the train has departed, the conductor comes around collecting tickets. He knocks on the restroom door and says, “Ticket, please.” The door opens just a crack and a single arm emerges with a ticket in hand. The conductor takes it and moves on.![]()
The men saw this and agreed it was a clever idea. So after the conference, the men decide to copy the women on the return trip and save some money. When they get to the station they buy a single ticket for the return trip. To their astonishment, the women don’t buy a ticket at all.
”How are you going to travel without a ticket?” says one of the perplexed men. ”Watch and you’ll see,” is the answer.
When they board the train the three men cram into a restroom and the three women cram into another one nearby. The train departs. Shortly afterwards, one of the women leaves her restroom and walks over to the restroom where the men are hiding. She knocks on the door and says in a low voice, “Ticket, please.”

Most of us have a box of baking soda just lying around somewhere in the back of our refrigerators. You may want to take that box out of the fridge, since it has a wide range of benefits that you would have never imagined! Baking soda can help clean grease off floors, freshen your breath, and even relieve insect bites! You won't believe some of the other uses baking soda has for everyday problems.

Here Are 22 Different Purposes for Baking Soda:
1) Whitens Your Teeth - You've probably noticed many toothpaste brands featuring baking soda as a main ingredient, and for good reason. Baking soda helps remove stains and discolorations from the surface of the teeth or enamel. You can simply add a teaspoon of the sodium bicarbonate with your toothpaste, and brush for a few minutes. Don't forget to rinse well.
2) Unclog Drains - Baking soda can help unclog blocked drainpipes when combined together with vinegar. Pour a pot of boiling hot water down the drain with half a cup of baking soda. Let the natural drain cleaner go to work for a few minutes. Add a cup of vinegar mixed with hot water on top of the baking soda, then cover the drain with a plug. Your drains should be super clean in less than 10 minutes.
3) Keeps Your Breath Fresh - Are you trying to get rid of the smell of that garlic you had for lunch? Baking soda can help with that. Baking soda works like magic for freshening your breath, and acts as a natural mouthwash. Put a teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water and your bad breath will be history!
4) Washing Produce in the Sink - Produce might appear clean on the surface, but you'll be stunned at the amount of chemicals and dirt that come off when they are washed properly. Add a 1/4 cup of baking soda into a sink full of water, and dunk the produce inside for a few minutes. Let the solution absorb all the chemicals before rinsing and eating.
5) Relieve Insect Bites - Baking soda can alleviate the itching of a mosquito bite. The alkaline inside the sodium bicarbonate neutralizes the skin irritation, and provides instant relief. Add a teaspoon of baking soda into a glass of water, and then dip the mixture on the affected areas by using a clean cloth.

6) Relieve Heartburn - There are many natural home remedies for treating heartburn, including a feature we did here. One of the remedies includes baking soda. Baking soda acts as a natural antacid when mixed with water, and helps reduce acid reflux. Add half a teaspoon of baking soda to half a glass of warm water. Make sure the solution dissolves well before drinking.
7) Relieve Skin Irritation - Baking soda helps relieve skin irritations when applied as a paste with witch hazel. Gently apply the paste on the itchy spots, and let it relieve the discomfort. You should consult with a physician beforehand if you suffer from dermatitis or other serious skin disease.
8) Deodorize the Refrigerator - Baking soda can eliminate horrible smells from the fridge and keep it deodorized. Sprinkle a little baking soda with water onto a damp sponge, and clean the refrigerator thoroughly. Make sure you remove all the food before cleaning the shelves out.
9) Remove Oil and Grease - Another excellent use for baking soda is that it can be used to remove oil and grease stains from upholstery. Place a little dab of the baking soda onto a clean white cloth, and allow between 10-15 minutes for the substance to go to work. The oil and grease stains should magically dissolve by that point.
10) Simple Floor Cleaner - Baking soda can act as a natural floor cleaner to remove unwanted stains. Add a half cup of baking soda into a bucket of warm water, and use the mixture to mop up the mess. Some people even add a little dash of lemon extract for a fresh and pleasant smell. The baking soda also acts as a disinfectant.

11) Polish Silver Flatware - Are you having a hard time removing the grease from your beautiful silverware? Not to worry - baking soda will have it sparkling in no time! You'll need some aluminum foil, a glass dish, a tablespoon of baking soda, a tablespoon of sea salt, half a cup of white vinegar and a cup of boiling hot water. Dip the silverware into the mix, and use a pair of tongs to remove them from the boiling water.
