(CNN) -- Shameless. There's no other word to describe Monica Lewinsky. Sixteen years after her affair with President Bill Clinton became public knowledge, she's returned to the limelight with a campaign against cyberbullying -- of which she claims to have been "patient zero."
Ignore the fact that she was patently not the primary victim in the Zippergate affair (poor Hillary Clinton was) or that any comparison with someone suffering a disease, especially at a time when people are dropping dead from Ebola, is tasteless in the extreme.
What's most depressing is that when she rejoined the public stage, she said she was inspired to speak out by the story of Tyler Clementi, a student who committed suicide after a video of him kissing another boy went up online. Young Clementi was the victim of societal homophobia as well as an invasion of his privacy, and his death makes any comparison with Lewinsky's self-imposed troubles ridiculous. Moreover, Clementi died in 2010. Lewinsky has decided to revisit his cause in 2014, suggesting that the timing may have less to do with him than it does with Hillary Clinton.
Lewinsky's mission: End cyberbullyingAnd, of course, this will be embarrassing for Hillary Clinton. Lewinsky has joined Twitter, which will allow her to make uncensored remarks in the course of the 2016 campaign. Would you feel happy about his mistress reappearing 16 years later to drag the whole thing up again, and even to play the victim? Does Hillary Clinton not have a right to put this scandal behind her and have a political identity separate from her husband's?
Lewinsky says that she wants to take on the "shame game." But what she did all those years ago and what she's doing now makes her a perfect candidate for a good, old-fashioned shaming.

Last year, Italy legalised marijuana for medicinal purposes and now the country is drafting in the army to make cheaper batches of the drug.
Not many patients initially signed up when the drug was legalised, largely because of the stigma it has in Catholic Italy and the cost.
Though Italian doctors can already prescribe cannabis to relieve pain, nausea and treat symptoms of illnesses like multiple sclerosis, only a few dozen patients actually paid the almost 38 euros.
But by using the army to produce the drug, the country's health minister hopes it will halve the cost.
“The aim obviously is to reduce the cost. That’s the motive behind of what we’re doing. We believe we can become self-sufficient and more than just halve the production costs and thus, eventually, also reduce administration costs.”
Starting next year, a high-security lab in a military compound in Florence will produce cannabis for Italy's healthcare system.

Not quite what you want on your wedding day. It wasn’t just the bride and groom taking the plunge at this wedding in Minnesota, when the whole party ended up in a lake.
The hilarious video shows the moment Dan and Jackie Anderson were dunked into a lake after lining up on a dock with their groomsmen and bridesmaids for a photo shoot, before the wedding was due to begin. The weight of the 22 people was just too much for the dock and it collapsed beneath them, resulting in the whole wedding party getting a soaking.
As screams and laughter echoed around the lake, a couple of bridesmaids were able to dash off, but the rest ended up in waist deep water.
The bride, groom and their entire wedding party were still drying off, as the guests arrived for the wedding.

A bottlenose dolphin, Sadie, gave birth yesterday to her second calf at Sea World San Diego.
Sadie gave birth at 3:32 PM at dolphin stadium after a 12-month gestation period. The baby came in at whopping 40 pounds (18kg).
Trainers and vets have said that the mother and baby appeared to be in good health and are bonding and swimming together.
In the next few weeks, they’ll continue to monitor both mother and baby around the clock. The gender of the calf is still unknown and will be determined within several weeks.
Thirteen-year-old Sadie’s first calf, named Kailani Koa, was born in 2009. The newborn dolphin marks the 80th successful dolphin birth at Sea World San Diego.

Working with three levels
1. Let students start working with Level 1, so they can understand news well. Students read the English text and then play the recording.

3. Move on to Level 3 and that is too difficult for the students but because they have been through level 1 and 2 they find out that they can more or less cope with it and know what the text is saying. This way they even deduce quite a lot of new words.
4. Now, students should practice telling the story to each other in a simple way.
1. Let students work in pairs. Give both of them a copy of the English story at their level.
2. Students read the English text. The first student reads one sentence and translates it into their own language. The other student reads the second sentence and also translates it into their own language. They keep changing after one sentence and continue this way until they read the whole text.
3. The first student reads the first paragraph without translating it. The other student reads the second paragraph. Once again they change after one paragraph until they finish reading.
4. They do the same but there is a twist. They read the paragraphs their partners read.
5. One student reads the whole text and their partner only listens without reading it. Then the other student does the same. They practise their English listening skills.
6. Play the video or audio the next lesson as many times as necessary until all your students understand.

An animal conservation project in Kenya have released video of an elephant being rescued.
In the footage, the eight-week-old calf can be seen trapped in a well in the Amboseli national park.
Using ropes tied to their jeep rescuers managed to pull the baby out of its predicament.
And afterwards, it couldn’t get away from the well fast enough, eventually being reunited with its family.

An alleged act of shocking police brutality at the street party in Philadelphia. As revellers celebrate the city’s Puerto Rican Day Parade, someone throws what seems to be water into the air, wetting several police officers.
They turn, and as they do so, so does 39-year-old Aida Guzman. As she walks away, one officer, apparently believing her to be responsible, swings a punch at her face, knocking her to the ground.
Aida is hauled off in handcuffs and charged with disorderly conduct.
The video of the incident has since gone viral and has been picked up by the Philadelphia police department. They say they are investigating the officer in the film, a Luitenant with 19 years service, who has previously been commended for bravery. He’s currently been put on desk duty.
Guzman has reportedly not yet decided whether to press charges after suffering a split lip and grazed knuckles.

Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi says the country is facing a threat to its existence from jihadists after the military suffered the biggest loss of life in decades in attacks in Sinai.
At least 31 soldiers were killed in two attacks on Friday, the deadliest a bomb blast near the town of El-Arish.
A three-month state of emergency has been declared in parts of the Sinai Peninsula and Egypt's Rafah crossing into the Gaza Strip was closed.
There will be three days of mourning.
In a live TV address, Mr Sisi said a huge plot was being waged against Egypt "by external forces".
"This is meant to break up Egypt and the Egyptians .... Egypt is fighting a war of existence."
No group has said it carried out the attacks, which came as the army continued an offensive against jihadists in northern Sinai.
The area has become increasingly lawless since President Hosni Mubarak was overthrown in 2011.
Militants have stepped up attacks since Islamist President Mohammed Morsi was ousted by the army last year amid massive opposition protests.
The bomb blast was one of the deadliest attacks in Sinai for months
In the deadliest attack, 28 soldiers were killed and a similar number injured in a suicide bomb blast at a checkpoint near El-Arish, the main town in the north of the restive peninsula.
Three more soldiers died in a separate shooting at a checkpoint in the town itself.
The state of emergency, which began at 03:00 GMT on Saturday, centres on the north and centre of the peninsula, a presidential statement said.
The decision was made after Mr Sisi called a meeting of the National Defence Council to discuss the security situation.
"The army and the police will take all necessary measures to tackle the dangers of terrorism and its financing, to preserve the security of the region... and protect the lives of citizens," the statement said.
The army in Sinai is battling militants angered by the overthrow of Islamist President Mohammed MorsiEgypt is in mourning with state television carrying black ribbons on screen, after the latest heavy losses in the lawless Sinai peninsula, says the BBC's Orla Guerin in Cairo.
Communications have been cut, and helicopters and special forces are now searching for militant hideouts, she adds.

In September at least 11 policemen were killed in a bomb attack on a convoy in the peninsula as it travelled through the village of Wefaq, near the Gaza border.
That bombing was claimed by Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, the most active militant group in Egypt. It attempted to kill the interior minister in Cairo in 2013 in a car bomb attack and has issued videos of the beheading of captives.
The group professes backing for Islamic State (IS) group jihadists in Iraq and Syria, although it has not formally pledged its support.

What will happen when David tries out Boffin's lie detector at school? Sometimes, the truth can be a little too close for comfort.
There are two rich kids in our form. Sandra Morris and Ben Fox. They are both snobs. They think they are too good for the rest of us. Their parents have big cars and big houses. Both of them are quiet. They keep to themselves. I guess they don't want to mix with the ruffians like me.
Ben Fox always wears expensive gym shoes and the latest fashions. He thinks he is good-looking with his blue eyes and blond hair. He is a real poser.
Sandra Morris is the same. And she knows it. Blue eyes and blonde hair too. Skin like silk. Why do some kids get the best of everything?
Me, I landed pimples. I've used everything I can on them. But still they bud and grow and burst. Just when you don't want them to. It's not fair.
Anyway, today I have the chance to even things up. Boffin is bringing along his latest invention – a lie detector. Sandra Morris is the victim. She agreed to try it out because everyone knows that she would never tell a lie. What she doesn't know is that Boffin and I are going to ask her some very embarrassing questions.
Boffin is a brain. His inventions always work. He is smarter than the teachers. Everyone knows that. And now he has brought along his latest effort. A lie detector.
He tapes two wires to Sandra's arm. 'It doesn't hurt,' he says. 'But it is deadly accurate.' He switches on the machine and a little needle swings into the middle of the dial. 'Here's a trial question,' he says. 'Are you a girl?'
Sandra nods.
'You have to say yes or no,' he says. 'Yes,' replies Sandra. The needle swings over to TRUTH. Maybe this thing really works. Boffin gives a big grin.
'This time tell a lie,' says Boffin. 'Are you a girl?' he asks again.
Sandra smiles with that lovely smile of hers. 'No,' she says. A little laugh goes up but then all the kids in the room gasp. The needle points to LIE. This lie detector is a terrific invention!
'OK,' says Boffin. 'You only have seven questions, David. The batteries will go flat after another seven questions.' He sits down behind his machine and twiddles the knobs.
This is going to be fun. I am going to find out a little bit about Sandra Morris and Ben Fox. It's going to be very interesting. Very interesting indeed.
I ask my first question. 'Have you ever kissed Ben Fox?'
Sandra goes red. Ben Fox goes red. I have got them this time. I am sure they have something going between them. I will expose them.
'No,' says Sandra. Everyone cranes their neck to see what the lie detector says. The needle points to TRUTH.
This is not what I expected. And I only have six questions left. I can't let her off the hook. I am going to expose them both.
'Have you ever held his hand?'
Again she says, 'No.' And the needle says TRUTH. I am starting to feel guilty. Why am I doing this?
I try another tack. 'Are you in love?' I ask.
A red flush starts to crawl up her neck. I am feeling really mean now. Fox is blushing like a sunset.
‘Yes,' she says. The needle points to TRUTH.
I shouldn't have let the kids talk me into doing this. I decide to put Sandra and Ben out of their agony. I won't actually name him. I'll spare her that. 'Is he in this room?' I say.
She looks at the red Ben Fox. 'Yes,' she says. The needle points to TRUTH.
'Has he got blue eyes?' I ask.
'No,' she says.
'Brown?' I say.
'No,' she says again.
I don't know what to say next. I look at each kid in the class very carefully. Ben Fox has blue eyes. I was sure that she loved him.
'This thing doesn't work,' I say to Boffin. 'I can't see one kid who doesn't have either blue eyes or brown eyes.'
'We can,' says Boffin. They are all looking at me.
I can feel my face turning red now. I wish I could sink through the floor but I get on with my last question. 'Is he an idiot?' I ask.
Sandra is very embarrassed. 'Yes,' she says in a voice that is softer than a whisper. 'And he has green eyes.'

Would you like to go on a cruise? This short story is set on a cruise ship and has a very funny ending.
Everyone was enjoying the cruise. The weather was warm and sunny, the sea was calm, and the passengers hadn't complained about anything, which was unusual. Even the chief engineer wasn't bad-tempered, which was very unusual.
Until, one morning, the ship suddenly stopped.
'What's going on?' roared the captain from the bridge. The jolt had spilled his morning coffee all over his uniform.
'Don't know, sir!' the third mate shouted back. 'But I think we've snagged our propeller on something!'
The chief engineer hastily shut down the engines (which did make him bad-tempered), and the trouble was investigated. The propeller was snagged, all right. An enormous chain was wrapped around it, and if the engineer had not acted so quickly the blades would have been mashed beyond repair.
'What idiot left a thundering great chain drifting around in the sea?' the captain growled.
'Don't know, sir,' the third mate said again, gloomily. 'But it's going to take some clearing.'
The captain sighed and looked around. It could have been worse, he supposed. The sea was dotted with small islands fringed by white beaches on which waves broke gently. The sun shone from a cloudless sky. If the purser organised a few deck games, then with any luck the crew could free the propeller before the passengers started grumbling.
They set to work, and by lunchtime they had untangled the propeller. But the captain was curious. The freed chain disappeared down into the sea, with no end in sight. Who on earth had put it there, and why? He wanted to find out, and another hour wouldn’t hurt.
'Haul it in,' he ordered the second mate (the third mate was off duty by now). 'Let's find out if it's attached to anything. If it isn't, I'll complain to the local coastguards—it's a hazard to shipping!'
The crew started to heave the chain aboard. It came easily enough, but there was a lot of it. Half an hour passed, and they were still hauling. Then suddenly the chain became harder to winch in.
'I think we're nearly there, sir!' the second mate panted.
The captain did not reply. He was staring at the nearest island. Strange… the beach looked much bigger than before. And the low cliffs weren't low any more, but seemed to have grown.'Sir!' bawled the second mate. 'Come and look at this!' The captain hurried to the winch. The crew had reached the end of the chain. Attached to it, bumping and clanging against the ship's side as it was heaved up, was a circular object about five metres across. The captain frowned. It reminded him of something. In fact he had a thing just like it, though much, much smaller, in the bath in his private cabin. It was…
A plug?
He looked at the islands again. The beaches were getting bigger. The cliffs were getting higher. As if the sea level was dropping…
'Oops…' said the captain.

Did you use to read fairy tales when you were younger? Here's a modern fairy tale with a difference!
‘If you want to marry my daughter,' said the king, 'you must prove yourself worthy of her hand.’ 'Anything!' cried the poor young man. 'I love the princess, and I will brave any peril for her!' The princess stood behind the throne, crying. 'Right then,' said the king. 'You must climb to the top of the Ice Mountain, and fetch the magic lamp that a wicked rival stole from me.' ‘I’ll do it!' the young man declared, and rushed from the throne room. The king chuckled. 'That's fixed him! The cheek of it - poor as a church mouse, and weedy too, and he thinks he's good enough to marry my daughter!
Well, he won't be back!’ The princess was still crying. The young man might have been poor and weedy, but his love for the princess gave him courage. He struggled up the freezing, slippery slopes of the Ice Mountain. And he found the wicked rival's hideaway, where the magic lamp was hidden. (Luckily, the rival was away at the time.) Holding the lamp, he wondered what sort of magic it could do. You were supposed to rub magic lamps, weren't you?
Well, then . . .He rubbed the lamp. And—WHOOSH! A cloud of purple smoke burst out, and a genie appeared. The genie was tall and handsome and proud. He said, 'Who are you?' 'I'm a poor young man who loves the princess. And when I take the magic lamp, with you in it, back to the king, he'll let me marry her,' said the young man happily. 'In your dreams!' snorted the genie. He reached out and grabbed the young man. 'I've been in that lamp for a hundred years, and I'm fed up with it! So you can take my place—in you go!' And with another puff of smoke, the young man vanished into the lamp.
The genie picked up the lamp, grabbed a magic carpet that was rolled up in a corner, and told it to take him to the palace. 'I've brought your lamp,' he announced as he strode into the throne room. 'It isn't magic any more. But I am. And I claim your daughter's hand in marriage!'
The king looked at the genie. Tall and handsome, and magic, too! ‘That's more like it!' he said, and turned to the princess, 'Daughter, this is your future husband!' The princess stopped crying. 'Oh, goody!' she said. 'I was so afraid I'd have to marry that poor, weedy creep instead!'
