Nahal Oz (Hebrew: נַחַ"ל עֹז, lit. "Mighty Stream," also "Strength of the Nahal") is a kibbutz in southern Israel. Located in the northwestern part of the Negev desert close to the border with the Gaza Strip and near the development towns of Sderot and Netivot, it falls under the jurisdiction of Sha'ar HaNegev Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 290.
The kibbutz was founded in 1951 as the country's first Nahal settlement. It was initially referred to as Nahlayim Mul Aza (Hebrew: נחלאים מול עזה, lit. Nahal soldiers across from Gaza). In 1953 it became a civilian community.
Nahal Oz came to national attention in April 1956 when it was ambushed by Egyptian soldiers who killed kibbutz resident Ro'i Rutenberg.[1] Rutenberg's funeral was attended by Moshe Dayan, then Chief of Staff, who gave a widely acclaimed eulogy which called upon Israel to search its soul and probe the national mindset.[2] After the 2006 Lebanon War, Israeli novelist David Grossman, who lost his son in the war, delivered a eulogy that was widely compared to Dayan's eulogy for Rutenberg.
Privatization of the kibbutz began in 1997.

Teacher Fabio Chavez leads a children’s orchestra in aslum built upon garbage. The Landfill Harmonic orchestra gets its name from the word ‘philharmonic’, which means ‘music loving’. Chavez brings his love of music and a passion for social change to the kids of Cateura, a town outside the capital of Paraguay that is built upon a landfill.
Everyday 1,500 tons of trash are dumped in Cateura. The 2,500 families that live around and on top of this garbage suffer from pollution, poverty, drug and alcohol problems, and a lack of proper education for their children. Most of the families living there struggle to make a living by separating garbage for recycling companies, and children often do much of this dangerous work.
Chavez says that the price of a violin for these children would cost what a house costs in Cateura, but this didn’t stop him. He turned to local garbage pickers to find and create musical instruments made from the trash. Violins and cellos are made from oil drums, saxophones are made from water pipes and keys, and guitars are made from cans. With these instruments, these kids play everything from Beethoven to the Beatles.
There’s a famous English expression that says that ‘one man’s trash is another man’s treasure’, but this story isn’t just about the value of things, but also the value of people. Chavez says, “People realize we shouldn’t throw away trash carelessly. Well, we shouldn’t throw away people either.” The Landfill Harmonic Orchestra shows us that the disposable garbage we create doesn’t just affect faceless people. It affects real people like the young girl featured in this video, who says, “Without music, my life would be worthless.”
There is a direct connection between all the trash we produce and the real people that have to live with it. And in the future, it won’t just be the poorest of the poor who will suffer from a lack of clean water, clean air, and clean food. Я- Эмма, я, как говорят мужчины, женщина с пробегом, у меня было два мужа и несколько параллельных романов исключительно для поддержания самооценки.
Я стала замечать, что мои сверстники, вдовцы в основном, стали подымать планку в своих анкетах, самому, например шестьдесят, а требует себе в поиске, не старше 35-ти. Я - врач, я знаю все их изъяны, ну куда прешься милый, как ответить на вызовы времени, где найдешь силы пахать новое поле? Твой плуг уже дрожит в твоих руках при поливе, а ты собираешься вспарывать бурьян на чужом участке, окстись, милый! Ты и в сорок пахал не очень, твоя Соня не раз мне говорила, что ты часто давал осечки, или ты пришил себе яйца гиббона, но такие операции делали только в воображении Булгакова, тот еще фантазер был, балы, шабаши, я знаю эти штучки, когда уже стоит не очень.

Одно питерское семейство, давненько отвалившее на "историческую родину", решило показать, родившемуся уже в Израиле, ребёнку, город предков.
Натурально, прибыли в славный город Санкт-Ленинбург, провели восторгающееся дитя по мостам-дворцам, привели в Летний сад. Где, собственно, и развернулись события... Надо заметить, что дитя получилось - чистый ангел: огромные, небесного цвета глазищи, роскошные, совершенно белые кудри... Не мальчик - кукла. К тому же, развитый не по годам. А проживает он с родителями в славном городе Нацрат-Илит, т.е. Верхнем Назарете.
И вот, по Летнему саду гуляя, отвлеклось дитя на какую-то старушку, вполне богомольного вида, с кряхтением пристраивающуюся на скамеечке. Родители прошли вперёд, а общительный, как все пятилетки, мальчуган, пристал к бабусе... "Что, болит? Бабушка?"- спросил мальчик. "Да", отвечала бабка, "старенькая я, спину ломит, ноги не ходят..." И, почуяв благодарного слушателя, начала рассказ о хворях и горестях.
В паузе, мальчик поднял на неё свои огромные, сострадающие глаза и, очень искренне сказал: "Бабушка, я хочу, чтоб у тебя больше никогда, ничего не болело!" Растроганная бабулька спрашивает: "Откуда ж ты такой хороший?" "Из Назарета, бабушка..." Бабка, закатив глаза, сползла по скамеечке...

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry said Wednesday that he would not be making another attempt at the presidency in 2016.
"I'm out of politics,” he told CNN’sJake Tapper. “I have no plans whatsoever, this is my last stop."
"I'm going to serve the country in the extraordinarily privileged position the president has given me, the great challenges that I have, and move on," Kerry said in the interview.
“And I don’t have to comment on, and won’t comment on, anybody contemplating a run for office anywhere,” he added.
Kerry was the 2004 Democratic nominee for president and lost to George W. Bush. A year ago he was chosen by President Barack Obama to succeed Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.

Ежедневно к одному и тому же киоску с прессой подходит мужчина и покупает одну газету на русском языке, одну на английском и одну на идише. В конце концов киоскер (старый еврей) не выдерживает и спрашивает:
— Молодой человек, я долго за вами наблюдаю. Если не секрет, скажите, почему вы каждый день делаете именно такой набор газет?
— Видите ли, я русский, поэтому газету на русском я попросту читаю.
Английский я пытаюсь учить.
А вот газетой на идише я, простите, вытираю задницу.
— Ой—вэй! Молодой человек!
Если вы долго будете это делать, то у вас скоро ж**а будет умнее головы.

Не знаю, как вы, а я очень люблю вареники, причём, с любой начинкой. Вот только люблю есть, а не возиться с ними, потому и нашла быстрый способ лепки, чем и спешу поделиться с вами. Такой быстрый способ лепки меня вполне устраивает, так что, в выходные примусь за варенички с творогом и изюмом.

An IDF officer was killed late Monday night from friendly fire during an operation near the northern part of the Gaza Strip, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit confirmed.
The incident occurred as the unit was maneuvering near the security fence. The officer's family has been notified.An official preliminary investigation revelead that the incident happend around 2 am
The officer, in command of an inteligence reconaissance team in the Gaza Division, was east of the Gaza security fence performing scouting duties with a Givati squad covering the team.
During the security mission, Givati soldiers occasionally left their armored personnel carrier (APC), and surveyed the area around them where the reconnaisance soldiers were working. On one of those tours, a soldier said he saw a suspicious figure on top of the reconaissance team's APC, which he thought was a terrorist.
The soldier then opened fire, and the officer, who was resting on top of the APC, wearing an armored vest, was hit in the back and died from his wounds on the way to hospital.

The State Department on Monday once again went out of its way to state that U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is “staunchly opposed” to boycotts against Israel.
“We are absolutely opposed, we have been opposed to any attempts at boycotts – boycotting Israel,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters at her daily news briefing, a day after taking to Twitter to stress that Kerry did not mean to threaten Israel when he said at the Munich Security Conference that the Jewish state will face boycotts if peace talks fail.
