12,000 years ago, Nikkugon had battled the treacherous god Vastatos. He ultimately defeated the dark entity and banished him, but not before some of his spilled blood gave rise to eight Avatars, the Children of Vastatos. Legend has it that if one of the Children were to break the seal, it would become Vastatos reborn.

One of these Children was GERELA, the Child of Light and the Avatar of Greed. Despite being a creature of light, she was no saint of holy power; Gerela was still a chaotic, power-hungry entity. She is also the fastest monster recorded, capable of outrunning Nikkugon, who eventually came to stop the evil entity. The Nanjou clan aided the guardian in ultimately sealing away the serpent-like monster, and the land was restored to normal, and the Nanjou clan cured the blind who saw the evil angel. Despite this defeat, Gerela was not destroyed, and she would eventually return in 1999 to seek out Vastatos.

Ok, ok, ok, I KNOW it's December and "Maria's First Christmas" is what you think of first! Don't worry, the new page just finished inking, I just need to colour it, and I have reasons why it took this long.

At the first of December, lots of things happened IRL, such as Christmas preparation, job deadline, sewing etc. In a way, I spent more time in reality than on computer screen.

Anyway, this is also something I have wanted to draw, especially in FAKE ANIME style. Getting Benonic and Carrie embarrassed/speechless. LOL Cause I love this couple so much, definitely one of my top 3 shippings!

For this artwork, I did a painting exercise where I tried to draw looking only at values at first, so my first step was to paint it in black and white, then I added tones and finally I finished with shading and lighting. And well, not only it turned out amazing IMO, I learned how to paint much faster! This took me less than a day to make and I'm very proud of the results. Enjoy!
