Roaring Bay in Otago on the South Island of NZ - August, September, October and November are usually the best months to see the Yellow-Eyed Penguins (Megadyptes antipodes) on the South Island. They nest in August, lay eggs in September and journey back and forth along the beach daily for a few months after that.
