Ученые из университета Айовы обнаружили, что существует прямая связь между количеством различных жалоб, тревог и вообще разглагольствований о своих бедах в Твиттере и предотвращением распространения некоторых заболеваний, от гриппа до лихорадки Денге или сезонной аллергии.

Исследования начались еще в 2009 году. В Твиттере проводился поиск по ключевым словам, связанным с вирусом "H1N1", таким как "свиной грипп". Оказалось, что твиты от людей, испытывающих симптомы свиного гриппа, совпадали с информацией, собранной Центром по контролю заболеваний. Более того, эти данные оказались очень точными в отношении места и времени распространения этой инфекции. Результаты Центра по контролю заболеваний поступали гораздо медленнее - через две-три недели после того, как пациенты заболевали.

Так что изучая Твиттер, можно было действовать гораздо оперативнее - проводить вакцинацию, профилактику, транспортировать заболевших и т.д.

Пользователи Твиттера, как правило, не слишком сдерживаются, когда жалуются на здоровье, описывают симптомы и обстоятельства развития болезни. В профилях чаще всего можно найти их место проживания. Эта информация может помочь врачам определить эпицентры эпидемий, понять, как заболевание передается и оценить, с какой скоростью оно может распространиться.

Граватары удобно и полезно использовать ещё и потому, что если вы довольно часто оставляете комментарии на чужих блогах и форумах, то вас начнут узнавать по вашему граватару.

К тому же куда приятней, когда рядом с комментариями размещается не просто элементарная “заглушка” или смешной смайлик (выбранные случайным образом), а ваш именной аватар. Это как фирменный лейб. К примеру, логотип Apple знают все, так что мешает вам быть столь же популярным и узнаваемым благодаря вашему аватару.

Чтоб не заморачиваться под каким e-mail адресом регистрироваться в комментариях добавьте их всех на ru.gravatar.com и прикрепите к ним одно изображения, а можете для каждого e-mail свою картинку. Это уже как вам захочется.

Если вдруг ваша старая картинка вам разонравилась, то зайдите в свой профиль на ru.gravatar.com и замените ее на новую, после замены картинка автоматически поменяется на всех сайтах, где вы раннее оставляли комментарии.

В Волгограде застрелен известный авторитет Владимир Кадин

Вчера около 22.00 в ресторане «Фасоль», который находится на Центральной набережной Волгограда (Чуйкова, 19), убит выстрелом в голову известный в городе предприниматель Владимир Кадин. Об этом сообщает корреспондент ИА «Высота 102» Александр Осипов с места происшествия.
Как пояснили корресподенту ИА «Высота 102» сотрудники оперативно-следственной бригады ГУ МВД и СУ СКР по Волгоградской области, убийца  подошел к Кадину сзади, когда тот сидел на открытой террасе ресторана «Фасоль». Киллер произвел один выстрел в голову предпринимателя от чего тот скончался на месте. Охрана бизнесмена пустилась в погоню за убийцей и настигла его на улице Советская напротив оружейного магазина «Охота и Рыбалка». Спасаясь от преследователей, убийца стал стрелять на поражение. Двое охранников произвели по киллеру несколько выстрелов, в результате чего тот был убит.

Смерть киллера - разрыв следственной ниточки. Только он мог бы назвать имя заказчика. А заказчик, видимо, парень не из простых. Ведь Владимир Кадин контролировал не только игорный бизнес в городе, но и был настоящим борцом с наркоторговцами.

Прекрасно звучит и смотрится на английском:

Facebook говорит о том, что упоминание любой социальной сети-конкурента в приложениях запрещено. Этот пункт без дополнительных ограничений может касаться очень большого количества сайтов и сервисов: Twitter, Google+, Foursquare, hi5, Flickr, и еще значительного числа других.

По словам представителей Facebook, новые правила Platform Policy еще не применялись на практике и приложения, которые их нарушают, еще ни разу не блокировались.

Abstract

This document is a strict subset of the full HTML5 specification that omits user-agent (UA) implementation details. It is targeted toward Web authors and others who are not UA implementors and who want a view of the HTML specification that focuses more precisely on details relevant to using the HTML language to create Web documents and Web applications. Because this document does not provide implementation conformance criteria, UA implementors should not rely on it, but should instead refer to the full HTML5 specification.

This document is an automated redaction of the full HTML5 specification. As such, the two documents are supposed to agree on normative matters concerning Web authors. However, if the documents disagree, this is a bug in the redaction process and the unredacted full HTML specification takes precedence. Readers are encouraged to report such discrepancies as bugs in the bug tracking system of the HTML Working Group.

Status of This document

This section describes the status of this document at the time of its publication. Other documents may supersede this document. A list of current W3C publications and the latest revision of this technical report can be found in the W3C technical reports index at http://www.w3.org/TR/.

• issue 31 (The presence of <meta name=generator> makes missing alt conforming)
• issue 32 (Drop the summary="" attribute (in favor of the aria-describedby attribute)
• issue 80 (The presence of title makes missing alt conforming)
• issue 142 (The video poster is conceptually part of the media resource itself. Any short text alternative should apply to the resource as a whole, not just the poster image.)
• issue 155 (Enable all users to distinguish the cells of a table.)

The HTML Working Group chairs maintain a complete list of all HTML Working Group issues for which new information is known to be being pursued; that list may change as this document progresses.

W3C anticipates that there will be changes to this specification as a result of the resolution of Last Call issues. Per the usual W3C Process, any significant changes to the specification will trigger a subsequent Last Call.
