Doll Shoes for 18" dolls

This pattern works up best with size 3 needles and Super Saver yarn

Both the left and right shoe can be worked the same.

Abbreviations used in this pattern:
K = Knit
pm = place marker
m1 = Make one (this can be done by knitting into the front and back of a stitch)
ssk = slip slip knit
K2tog = Knit 2 together
YO = Yarn Over

CO 15

Row 1: K7, pm, K1, pm, K7

Row 2: K1, M1, Knit to marker, M1, Slip marker, K1, slip marker, M1, Knit to last stitch, M1, K1

Rows 3 & 4: Same as row 2 ( 27 sts.)

Rows 5-8: Knit

Row 9: K7, ssk 3 times, K1, K2tog 3 times, K7 (21 stitches)

Row 10: K5, BO 11, K5

**Put first 5 stitches on holder**

Rows 11-13: K5 remaining stitches. (not those placed on holder)

Row 14: BO 5 sts

Row 15: CO 6 sts (before you knit the 5 sts on the holder)

Row 16: Knit across 11 sts.

Row 17: K8, K2tog, YO, K1

Row 18: Knit across

Row 19: BO

Fold the shoe in half and sew along the sole of the shoe and the back. Make sure that when you are sewing the second shoe that strap is on the opposite side as your first shoe, or you may end up with two left shoes. Sew a button on to the side of the shoe to secure the strap. Try it on your doll and make a matching purse if desired.

Christmas slippers…

with Two Strands of Red yarn and a 5.5 mm hook

Row 1: Ch 5, 2sc in 2nd ch from hook , hdc in next 2, 5 hdc in last ch, hdc in next 2, 3 more sc in beginning stitch.

Row 2: Hdc around the edge being very generous in your increases to keep the sole flat. Join and break off red yarn.

Uppers… given the style of the slippers, select a stitch to start in and work FPsc around the toe area. Ch1 and turn. I had 15 stitches for mine.

Row 2 : hdc in each FPsc, ch 9 (forms heel strap so make it as long or short as you need) and join to beginning hdc.

Row 3: hdc in 1st. hdc to end, sl st into 1st ch of strap. Secure and break off yarn.

Pink slippers.

These were made a bit larger than my usual shoe pattern so that they would look more slipper like. Note that you start and end in the heel section.

With pink and 5.5mm hook ch 6

Row 1: 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, hdc in next 2, 5 hdc in end chain, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next, put 3 more sc in beginning stitch. Join.

Row 2: Hdc evenly around being generous with increases to keep the sole flat.

Row 3: flip sole good side down and work FPsc into every stitch. Ch1 and turn

Row 4: hdc around the fpsc and work a decrease on each side of the heel. I also worked one decrease in the instep area just to make it more likely to stay on.

Row 5: hdc around working 5 hdc decreases around the toe area.

Row 6: mark the (visual) Centre Front Stitch. Hdc decrease, hdc up to the CF stitch, ch 2, sl st into CF stitch, ch 2, hdc to last 2 st, hdc dec. join and Break off. Tidy all ends. Add a bow using the two colours from the nightie to tie them together .
