Materials: Brown Sheep Nature Spun sport weight yarn, 1 3/4 oz (40 gr) 184 yards (168 m), color 740S Snow - about 1/2 ball and color 112S Elf Green - about 1/3 ball
Needles: US 2 (2.75mm) circular needles and dpn OR SIZE NEEDED TO OBTAIN GAUGE
Crochet hook 2.75 mm
8 buttons
Gauge for stockinette stitch: 26 st = 4" (10 cm)
Abbreviations
kfr&b - knit front and back
m1 - Make 1 increase - I used the increase described by Elizabeth Zimmerman
Make a backward loop over the right-hand needle and in the next row/round purl/knit
as a regular stitch.
Pattern Notes
Stockinette Stitch in rows:
1st row and all odd rows - knit sts
2nd row and all even rows - purl sts
Stockinette Stitch in rounds:
knit all rounds
Rib 1x1 in rows:
1st row and all odd rows - *k 1, p 1 - repeat from * across
2nd row and all even rows - *k 1, p 1 - repeat from * across
Edge stitches: knit the first st and purl the last st in the row

All rounds *k1, p1 - repeat from * across
Sweater
The sweater is worked from the bottom up, back and forth with a back fastening and a round yoke.
Sleeves are worked in rounds on dpn. The button band is crochet.
Body
With green color, co 79 sts.
Work in 6 rows 1x1 rib. Odd rows are on RS, even rows are on WR.
Change to white yarn and work 2 rows in stockinette.
From row 3 start the Tree pattern.
Work rows 12-22 in white yarn in stockinette st.
Sleeves
Worked on dpn, make 2:
With green yarn, co 26 sts, distribute on 3-4 dpns. Work in 1x1 rib for 6 rounds.
Change to white yarn and work in stockinette 28 rounds. Cut the yarn.
Transfer 3 sts at the end of the round and 3 sts in the beg of the round to a piece of yarn.
Yoke
Row 1 (RS): With white yarn knit 17 sts of the left back, transfer the next 6 sts of the body to a scrap piece of yarn, knit 20 sts of the left sleeve, knit 33 sts of the front, transfer the next 6 sts of the body to a scrap piece of yarn, knit 20 sts of the right sleeve, knit 17 sts of the right back = 107 sts.
Row 2 purl back.
Work in stockinette 2 more rows.
Row 5 knit with green yarn.
Row 6 with green yarn: 1 edge, *1p, p2tog - rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.= 72 sts
Row 7: 1 edge, *k1 in green, k1 in white - rep to last 1 st, p1 (in green)
Row 8: 1 edge, *p1 in white, p1 in green - rep from * to last 2 st, p2 (in green)
Rows 9 (knit) and 10 (purl) in green, cut the green yarn, go on working in white.
Rows 11 (knit) and 12 (purl) in white
Row 13: 1 edge, * k1, k2tog rep from * to last 2 st, k1, p1 = 49 sts.
Work 5 more rows in stockinette
Row 19: 1 edge, k1, *k1, k2tog rep from 8 to last 2, k1, p1.
Row 20 purl back. Continue to work collar.
Collar
Work in stockinette 12 rows, bind off.
Finishing
Sew (graft) the underarm stitches.
With RS of work facing, with crochet hook and green yarn, starting from the hem of the left back edge, sc along the edge up to the collar, sc along the collar edge, sc down along edge of the right back to the hem. Turn and sc back
to the beg of the collar, turn.
Last row: *3 sc, ch 3 rep from * to the last 3 sts, 3 sc.
