The victory of Vladimir Putin in the presidential elections in Russia with a large margin from rivals in many respects was the result of the foreign policy situation around the Russian Federation, says Professor of the Department of Economics of the National Autonomous University of Mexico Americo Saldivar.

According to the latest data of the CEC, Putin leads the presidential elections in Russia, gaining three-quarters of votes after data processing from half of polling stations. 
"This is a good result for the" Putin group "and its project, and undoubtedly its broader triumph is more in line with the external conjuncture than the internal one.This support of 75% of voters says that the confrontation between the West and Russia has yielded results," RIA Novosti's Saldivar said. 
The expert expressed hope that the next six years and the post of the head of Russia will give Putin the opportunity to strengthen the country's position in the foreign arena and improve the situation in Russia itself.
