Во-первых, Билли просыпается!
На Blabbermouth пишут, что замечательный дядьё Билли Хаурдейл, тот самый который основал и продюсировал A Perfect Circle- объявил о выходе своего сольного альбома в марте 2008го года. Проект называется Ashes Divide, и выходит на Island Records. Билли будет сам напишет песни, споёт их и сыграет на гитарке (его голос можно было было уже слышать, ну, например, в what so funny 'bout peace, love and understanding на альбоме APC eMOTIVE).
Имхо, во мне лично теплится ожидание, что это будет получше сольного проекта другого небызвестного участника perfect circle.
Во-вторых, на амазоне уже принимают заказы на двд Vicarious. Там же уже находится несколько очень положительных отзывов счастливчиков.

Примерно неделю назад toolband.com стал заманивать фанатов на покупку особо эксклюзивных концертных афиш с турне:
Those of you who have gone to first couple of shows may have noticed the new 'retro-style' event posters for sale along with the other tour merchandise at the venue. With a DIFFERENT POSTER for each show (city), obviously there is a very limited number of these items. So if you are interested in purchasing one, it's probably a good idea to get it early so that they are not all gone by the end of the show. There are also a few variations of these event posters: some that are unsigned, others that are signed by all four band members and a few that contain some original art (drawings and such) by ADAM when he is in the mood to do so. I would imagine these will only go up in value so here is your chance to obtain one without having to bid for them on any online auctions. Of course some will find their way to just such a place.

Речь идёт о выступление в Гонолуле (2006/08/18 - Honolulu, HI - Blaisdell Concert Hall), примечательно тем, что к исполнению sober присоединился Кирк Хэммет из Metallica (средний на фотографии). посмотреть и послушать кусочек его соло в sober можно например, здесь.

I have been super busy lately - touring, dealing with fires(*future Blog), fighting the good fight and fearing nothing.
But right now - I am finishing our epic Vicarious video here in Santa Monica ca.

V is for Vagina опробован, прослушан, и первая доза впечтлений получена. Давайте делиться. Скажу сразу и прямо - мне не понравилось. Совсем. К моей радости, Cuntry Boner и World Up My Ass не были включены в альбом, к моему сожалению, того Puscifer'а, которого можно было ожидать по совместным работам Мэйнард+Лонер, не произошло. Кантри как такового нет, есть нечто электронно-басующее. По словам Кинана, звучание альбома можно охарактеризовать как "driving around in your car listening to those old Motown hits, James Brown, and cool R&B stuff". Машины не было, слушал дома, на работе и на улице. Из колонок и наушников.

The holidays are rapidly approaching, and with them the NEW TOOL DVD/VIDEO for VICARIOUS is scheduled to be released on DECEMBER 18th (or 19th) and will include an EXTENDED CUT, lots of BONUS MATERIAL and, of course, SPECIAL PACKAGING. Here's a sneak preview of a working still.

first and foremost, if you don’t like what you’re hearing from this project so far, don’t lie about it out of respect.
if you’re compelled to support it in spite of what you’ve heard and not appreciated, then support it because you believe in the precedent of independence i’m attempting to set.
promise me that much and then we can proceed from here.
this project for me is one part fun, one part learning experience. trying to go it alone, without a label to convolute my efforts is very terrifying, chaotic, and challenging. but all in a very positive way. many many dark corners and unknowns. it’s liberating but still pretty damn scary. this is a very very expensive education. i could very easily lose my ass on this whole thing. but it’s sort of ok. i can afford a new ass.
anyway…
lot’s of controversy flying about regarding downloading. time to throw my 2 cents in. downloading wont effect me TOO much. but it will affect those bands right on the edge. bands who could use the hundred bucks to make it to the next town to play a show (gas and food aren’t free. go figure) . or could use some cash to record a new record.( imagine that. it actually takes money to record a record.) i can afford to pay for the recording of my record. i’m one of the lucky ones. (thanks to nirvana and the label feeding frenzy, i won the early 90’s grunge lottery.) but those days are history. in order for young bands to survive nowadays, they need to get paid for their efforts. touring costs money. recording costs money. unless you’re ok with bands recording their songs on their Palm Treo. personally i went the extra mile and tried to incorporate that ancient and illusive medium known as “analog tape.” because, and i can hear the yawns welling up as i type… because it sounds better. the machines are expensive and a pain in the ass to maintain but they’re worth it. that is unless people are just gonna steal your efforts. then it’s a big fat FUCK NO, IT”S NOT WORTH IT. so don’t be douche bags. support the process.
devils advocate… it feels like the digital landscape has widened peoples appreciation of new music. it’s placed alternative forms of music in front of those who may not have been exposed otherwise. it feels like people are more excited about music than they have been in a long time. but for fuck sake… pay the man for his song and dance. otherwise the only people who can afford to record quality music are the cookie cutter boy bands with their corporate sponsors and media machines.(Dick In Box Excluded, of course) please do your best to support bands like Autolux, the Burning Brides, Isis, etc… they need you. i need you, but they need you more. having said that…
i’m doing this pretty much on my own. no label support aside from the distributor. it’s a HUGE learning curve. but if i can navigate it, i will be able to share what i’ve learned. i can make it easier for other bands that are trying to do it on their own. make it possible for us all to survive in our little microcosms rather than fall victim to the seductive song of the sirens… the expensive and impersonal macrocosm of the major label dog and pony show.

На днях развлекался в игрулину The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay. Это 3D-shooter\stealth, поставленный по вселенной харизматичного персонажа - Ричарда Б. Риддика с лицом Вина Дизеля, из фильмов Кромешная Тьма (Pitch Black) и Хроники Риддика (The Chronicles of Riddick). На одном из уровней, рассматривая имена над дверьми в комнатки пилотов, гм, космопорта галактической тюрьмы, я заметил знакомые имена.
When you reach "Pigsville" (the guards quarters) after meeting Pope Joe, continue through the shower area. Once you leave it and step into the first corridor, turn right and go into the doorway at the end of the hall. These are the guards individual quarters. Go to the first room on the right (the nameplate will read "Keenan") and ring the doorbell. You'll hear mostly gibberish but also a mention of "Vatar." Vatar was the main villain of Enclave, another game made by Starbreeze (who are the developers of Escape from Butcher Bay), and the voice is that of the goblin character, a low-ranking enemy in Vatar's forces.

В 2000 году Кинан поучаствовал в альбоме White Pony банды Deftones (композиция Passenger). По словам басиста дефтонзов Чи Ченга это знакомство случилось следующим образом:We're friends. When were on the Ozzfest, Maynard was like 'Look, once you're done with Ozzfest,come on down here and we'll fool around together.' We thought it was amazing that he wanted to work with us, we were blown away : 'Right on, let's do it, what an honor.' We've always respected the way Tool has done things. Nobody goes 'That's new metal.' It's more like : 'Oh, that's Tool.' It's indigenous to their own nature.
He never intended to sing on anything. He just wanted to see how we wrote and give us ideas about how Tool does things, just because he's interested in bands. So we went down to work with him, and we already had the music for "Passenger" done. We were playing, Chino was out getting a beer or something, he wasn't in the room. Maynard was listening and he said 'Why put things in 4/4 when you can go 3/4 or 7/8 or something like that ?' And then he just grabbed the mike and started singing, and it was like 'Ahhhh' - you know what I mean ? And Chino had come back at that point, so they started trading off and doing their thing.
We didn't ever really intend to use Maynard on the new album, because every band was like 'Ok, here's our token celebrity guest appearance, our celebrity crutch for the album.' We didn't really want to go that route. When we actually recorded it, we couldn't get Maynard out of our heads. And I said 'Look dude, just call Maynard and ask him to come in and do the song.' So Maynard came in for 2 days, wrote, recorded, done.
