As one of the smaller and easily accessible mountains in the region between Tegernsee and Schliersee the Baumgartenschneid offers a nice view around in almost any season of the year.

Coming from Rottach-Egern down at the Tegernsee lake via a nice inn just below the Riederstein chapel it is a nice walk through the mountain wood. Though during this time of the year in the middle of March there is a good chance that you have to be careful since snow and some icy spots on the path can get dangerous. So just in case bring your crampons.

The superb ski area of Grandvalira is the largest skiable domain in the Pyrenees and southern Europe, since expanding slightly in 2011, and again in 2012, it now offers 210km of linked runs on one lift pass. Grandvalira encompasses six resorts in total, stretching from Pas de la Casa which sits on the French border, right across to Encamp which is just a few kilometres outside the capital Andorra la Vella, along the way you will encounter the sectors of Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo resulting in a vast domain encompassing much of the north and east of the country.
