A hiking, climbing and camping area are along the Colorado River near Moab, Utah. The image was made with an infrared-converted Nikon D810 and 850nm cutoff filter, both by Kolari Vision.

Maasbracht, Controlcenter of locks and Lock Overview of the port of Maasbracht, bridge and lock. Opposite of the port where there are the houseboats of the residentials, the so called Wachthaven lies opposite to the supraregional lock control center with its dark glass front. In the houseboat harbour there is also a brick building, the pumping station for the lock nearby. The lock-out forms also the bridge over the Juliana Canal. Like all my other works on this platform nearly no one will view this panorama. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maasbracht, Schleusen-Kontrollcenter und Schleuse "Uberblick "uber den Hafen von Maasbracht, Br"ucke und Schleuse. Gegen"uber dem Hafen der Wohnboote, dem Wachthaven, liegt das "uberregionale Schleusen-Kontrollcenter mit seiner dunklen Glasfront. Im Wohnboothafen befindet sich auch noch ein Backsteingeb"aude, es ist das Pumpwerk f"ur die nahebei gelegene Schleuse. Die Schleusenausfahrt bildet auch gleichzeitig die Br"ucke "uber den Juliana-Kanal. Wie auf dieser Plattform "ublich, wird sich keine Sau dieses Pano anschauen.

In the 16th century the sculptor Francesco Camilliani created this fountain. Since his customer Don Pedro died before the fountain was completed, his son sold the fountain to the city of Palermo in 1573. It was placed on the levelled Piazza Pretoria in front of the church Santa Caterina and the Palazzo Pretorio. Because of the naked statues, the square was renamed Piazza della Vergogna by the inhabitants of Palermo. Even today it is still called this way.

The "Rocca di Cefalu" is the 270m high castle mountain of the city. The mountain has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Temple remains from the 9th century B.C. are still visible. Today it is above all the view of Cefalu and the coast of Sicily that invites you to climb the mountain.

The Hidrellez (Hagios Georgios) monastery is probably one of the oldest monsteries in Cappadocia, founded in the 6th century.The Greek name of the village on the opposite side of the valley was Potamia (today Bask"oy), homeland of St.George, to whom the church was dedicated.

A look at three wood stave pipelines along the trail leading to Elk Falls in Elk Falls Provincial Park near Campbell River, British Columbia.  A total length of 1.8 kilometres, these were constructed in 1946 as part of a major project to carry water from nearby John Hart Lake to a generating station.  Currently there are plans to construct underground tunnels as an alternative to transport the water to which these pipelines will soon be decommissioned.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: Kolobrzeg ([k?'w?b??k] (About this sound listen); German: Kolberg (About this sound listen)) is a city in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship in north-western Poland with about 47,000 inhabitants (as of 2014). Kolobrzeg is located on the Parseta River on the south coast of the Baltic Sea (in the middle of the section divided by the Oder and Vistula Rivers). It has been the capital of Kolobrzeg County in West Pomeranian Voivodship since 1999, and was in Koszalin Voivodship from 1950 to 1998. During the Early Middle Ages, Slavic Pomeranians founded a settlement at the site of modern Budzistowo. Thietmar of Merseburg first mentioned the site as Salsa Cholbergiensis. Around the year 1000, when the city was part of Poland, it became seat of the Diocese of Kolobrzeg. During the High Middle Ages, the town was expanded with an additional settlement a few kilometers north of the stronghold and chartered with L"ubeck law. The city later joined the Hanseatic League. Within the Duchy of Pomerania, the town was the urban center of the secular reign of the prince-bishops of Cammin and their residence throughout the High and Late Middle Ages. When it was part of Brandenburgian Pomerania during the Early Modern Age, it withstood Polish and Napoleon's troops in the Siege of Kolberg. From 1815, it was part of the Prussian province of Pomerania. After the Nazis took power in Germany, the local Jewish population was discriminated against, deemed to be subhuman and eventually subjected to genocide. In 1945 Polish and Soviet troops seized the town, while the remaining German population which had not fled the advancing Red Army was expelled. Kolobrzeg, now part of post-war Poland and devastated in the preceding Battle of Kolberg, was rebuilt but lost its status as the regional center to the nearby city of Koszalin.
