Saint Petersburg Stadium, also referred to as Zenit Arena, Krestovsky Stadium, and Piter Arena, is the recently opened new stadium of FC Zenit. It got built at the site of the former Kirov Stadium. Piterland is the biggest water park in Russia, and one of the biggest in Europe, opened in January 2012. This park is open all year round, so it is a great attraction even during the cold months, as it is covered by an enormous dome.

In this panorama, as we climb upstream, we are just exiting the narrowest part of the slot and entering the lower end of what I call the Plaza. You can look downstream and see the narrows of the slot canyon, but you can also look upstream and see where the slot levels off to make the plaza. The plaza is still contained within the deep and large Matkatamiba Canyon but the slot effect is much less defined. There is a series of small waterfalls dropping from the plaza as the stream erodes down through the Muav Limestone to cut the narrow slot below. The water is clear and refreshing which diminishes the thought that this canyon, like all the others in the area, can flow wildly with red-brown muddy torrents during unpredictable flash floods. As we turn to our right we see one of the features that make the Grand Canyon so special - the refreshing green color of the hanging gardens. This close view of one of the hanging gardens in Matkatamiba Canyon shows the variety of different plants that grow where there is plenty of year-round water. I am no botanist but in this photo you can see the bright green of different kinds of grasses, shrubs, trees, vines, ferns, and moss.

The Kazakh Steppe also called the Great Dala, ecoregion, of the Palearctic temperate grasslands, savannas, and shrublands biome, is a vast region of open grassland in northern Kazakhstan and adjacent portions of Russia, extending to the east of the Pontic steppe and to the west of the Emin Valley steppe, with which it forms part of the Eurasian steppe. Before the mid-nineteenth century it was called the Kirghiz steppe, 'Kirghiz' being an old name for the Kazakhs. Source: Wikipedia

'Avila is an old Castilian town in the center of Spain. It's well known for the high number of Romanesque and Gothic churches and by its complete, well preserved and beautiful medieval town walls. The image was taken in a sunny day from the popular viewpoint named "Los cuatro postes" (The Four Posts). 'Avila is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
