Castle Pertenstein has survived more than 700 years of eventful history ever since. Under Barbara Lucia of Toerring-Stein, the estate rose in 1600 to a stately country castle with a thriving economy. Pertenstein was at this time Count's Hofmark with the right to exercise the lower jurisdiction. But already in the next generation it almost fell into ruin. In 1820, the Hofmark was converted into a second-class patrician community in Matzing / Pertenstein, from which the municipality of Matzing emerged in 1848. The current owner is S.E. Hans Veit IV Count zu Toerring-Jettenbach. He handed over his second-oldest family estate to the "Heimatbund Schloss Pertenstein" e.V. in Erbpacht for 99 years. Under the motto "New life in old walls", efforts are being made together to preserve, renovate and restore this important cultural monument. Today, Toerringer Castle has become a place of hospitality and culture worth visiting. The ensemble of the castle, the royal stables, the Tehentstadel and the circular hall provide the ideal setting for holding public and private events (such as weddings, corporate events, concerts and much more). Живописная коряга рядом с трассой горного марафона МГР-2017. Далее начинается не менее живописный спуск Змеиная Тропа. Хотя я лично змей на ней не встретил. На спуске местами очень рыхлый грунт! Злая резина приветствуется.

This panorama opens looking west towards storm clouds on Pryor Mountain. Looking in the foreground, however, your are looking at the Big Horn River as it is backed up in Yellowtail Lake (aka Big Horn Lake) on the left side of the panorama. The greener water of Medicine Creek are in the canyon to the left. The small isthmus between the two is only a couple hundred yards wide. As the river curls east towards the Big Horn Mountains it bends back again to the north. As Medicine Creek runs towards the east it joins with the Big Horn River. The large area between the two is called Barry's Island. Only the narrow isthmus prevents the feature from being a true island.
