The old silver smelter "Sankt Georgen" in Schneeberg was created at 1500 by the rich treasure trove of Sankt Georg. At 1519, it was one of the most important smelting huts in the Schneeberger mountain area and changed the owner several times. In the year 1665 it was a electoral hut in a dilapidated state. Parts of it were re-used in the construction of the new silver smelter to Schneeberg in the Lindenau reason in the year 1665. The building, still standing at this point, has many historical details of the electoral silver smelting hut. Presumably, it is the only remaining building of a silver smelting hut in the European area, where the methods described by Georgius Agricola were still being worked on. Lost Falls is a relatively unknown waterfall near Ashland, Oregon. A short trail alongside Lost Creek follows to this little gem. Most views are taken from the top, one has to scramble down to get to here. The falls has an upper & lower drop - this view looks at the upper portion that falls into this secluded pool before tumbling over the lower falls. Water flow diminishes during the summer - during winter months a second waterfall can sometimes be seen from an intersecting creek. All together the total drop is probably about 80 feet, this is not the standard view that most people visiting would see.

Some have a pied' terre (foot on the earth) as a second home. Our little San Francisco apartment is so small, we call it l'ortiel d' terre—a toe on the earth. But I don't complain in the least. It gives us a homebase in the city that feels like the birthplace of my soul.

You can see Bolinas Lagoon (where the San Andreas Faultline comes ashore), Stinson Beach, and Bolinas from this green mountaintop vista. After shooting this pano, I watched a hanglider effortlessly float the winds coming off of the ocean. He seemed to just fly forever.

This bench is among my favorite places to sit, swing my feet (The bench is really high off the ground.), and watch the world go by. The cool breeze, the pounding surf below, and the tranquil view of a frenetic city make this a wonderful place to just chill and chat.
