Pamela Anderson Says Relationship with Tommy Lee May Have Been 'Only Time I Was Ever Truly in Love'

Pamela Anderson Says Relationship with Tommy Lee May Have Been 'Only Time I Was Ever Truly in Love' https://t.co/X4yTZ7CB8G

— People (@people) January 18, 2023

"We just wanted to have babies and be together forever."

Anderson writes: "My relationship with Tommy may have been the only time I was ever truly in love."
We had fun," she writes, "and our rule was no rules."

But the theft of their personal tapes from a safe in their garage, which were then made into a "sex tape" sold by others, increased the tabloid and paparazzi's relentless pursuit. "It ruined lives, starting with our relationship — and it's unforgivable that people, still to this day, think they can profit from such a terrible experience, let alone a crime," writes Anderson, who has never watched the stolen tape.

With their two young sons at home, the pressures and stress ultimately overwhelmed them, she writes. One night in 1998, she says Lee twisted her arm as she was holding seven month old Dylan, and Brandon played nearby. "Tommy ripped Brandon off me and threw me and Dylan into a wall," she writes. Panicked, she called 911. Tommy was arrested and served six months in jail. And, as she writes, "Our hell began."

Anderson ended up filling for divorce. "The divorce from Tommy was the hardest, lowest, most difficult point of my life," she writes in her memoir. "I was crushed. I still couldn't believe that the person I loved the most was capable of what had happened that night. We were both devastated, but I had to protect my babies."

Over two decades later, she and Lee "check in, every once in a while," she says. "Tommy is the father of my kids and I'm forever grateful."

Sarah Michelle Gellar: 'I’ll Never Tell My Full Story' About Working With Joss Whedon

Sarah Michelle Gellar: ‘I’ll Never Tell My Full Story’ About Working With Joss Whedon on ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ https://t.co/G7SdlEh3t1 pic.twitter.com/UEkXdY28VT

— IndieWire (@IndieWire) January 18, 2023

Sarah Michelle Gellar will not speak about certain experiences with Joss Whedon on the set of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Gellar has decided to stand by the legacy of the show itself instead of its creator.

“I’ve come to a good place with it, where it’s easier to talk about,” Gellar told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ll never tell my full story because I don’t get anything out of it. I’ve said all I’m going to say because nobody wins. Everybody loses.”

“I’m not the only person facing this, and I hope the legacy hasn’t changed. I hope that it gives the success back to the people that put in all of the work. I will always be proud of ‘Buffy.’ I will always be proud of what my castmates did, what I did. Was it an ideal working situation? Absolutely not. But it’s OK to love ‘Buffy’ for what we created because I think it’s pretty spectacular.”

She added, “It’s not about finding my voice. It’s about learning how to use it, and using it in the right way.”

Channing Tatum is planning a remake of Patrick Swayze film ‘Ghost’

Среда, 18 Января 2023 г. 22:12 + в цитатник

Channing Tatum is developing a remake of supernatural romantic comedy drama Ghost.

Find out more here: https://t.co/6toWgzjJ9l pic.twitter.com/T3FnKzUdUx

— Empire Magazine (@empiremagazine) January 17, 2023

* The “Magic Mike” star revealed in a new Vanity Fair interview that his production company, Free Association, has the rights to the iconic Patrick Swayze film, and he is mulling a remake.

* The original 1990 movie starred Swayze and Demi Moore as a couple who confronts the spirit world and afterlife when one of them is murdered. Whoopi Goldberg and Tony Goldwyn also starred.

* Tatum would potentially fill the shoes of Swayze in the remake, but he acknowledged to Vanity Fair that the new film would be “something different” to avoid some of the now problematic stereotypes in the original.

Jinger Duggar Speaks Out Against Family's 'Cult-Like' Religious Beliefs

Jinger Duggar Vuolo on Growing Up Under 'Cult-Like' Religious Beliefs: 'I Was Terrified of the Outside World' https://t.co/aU6MGYKVLc

— People (@people) January 18, 2023

Jinger Duggar Vuolo gave an interview about the way she grew up to promote her memoir Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear. She finally found freedom in 2017.

"Fear was a huge part of my childhood," Jinger says. "I thought I had to wear only skirts and dresses to please God. Music with drums, places I went or the wrong friendships could all bring harm."
She was even scared when her family went to play broomball. "I thought I could be killed in a car accident on the way, because I didn't know if God wanted me to stay home and read my Bible instead."

Jinger was raised by parents who were devout followers of the Institute in Basic Life Principles. The IBLP movement teaches that women should be subservient to their husbands and that followers should shun dancing, dating and much of modern popular culture. Gothard, 88, led the church until 2014, when more than 30 women accused him of harassment and molestation.

"His teachings in a nutshell are based on fear and superstition and leave you in a place where you feel like, 'I don't know what God expects of me,' " she says. "The fear kept me crippled with anxiety. I was terrified of the outside world."

In 2017, she finally started to doubt his teachings. "His teachings were so harmful, and I'm seeing more of the effects of that in the lives of my friends and people who grew up in that community with me," she says. "There are a lot of cult-like tendencies." She ultimately walked away from IBLP altogether. While Vuolo stresses that she's still a strong Christian, her understanding of how to live her faith has changed.

Her memoir will be released January 31st and she's hoping it will help others. In the book she details leaving behind her childhood fears and embracing a new life — one still based in faith but no longer commanded by one living man.

"That's the beauty of this journey," she says. "The teaching I grew up under was harmful, it was damaging, and there are lasting effects. But I know other people are struggling and people who are still stuck. I want to share my story, and maybe it will help even just one person to be freed."

Watch her full interview below.

Lisa Marie Presley Led Grief Support Groups Before Her Death

Среда, 18 Января 2023 г. 03:27 + в цитатник

Lisa Marie Presley Said She 'Had a Lot to Do Still' During Final Visit to Son's Grave Before Her Death https://t.co/qMFzJHBVY7 pic.twitter.com/XMyg0Ym5I6

— People (@people) January 17, 2023

Lisa Marie Presley had plans to help others through grief before her sudden death on January 12th.

Author David Kessler, whom Lisa Marie befriended after her son Benjamin passed away in 2020, revealed that Lisa Marie had held grief support groups in her home and had plans for a podcast. "She had x-ray vision for other people's pain," says Kessler. "When you were in her gaze, no one else existed. She was focused on you. She talked about turning her pain into purpose."

On her most recent trip to Graceland days before her death, she sat down with a newly bereaved mother "for two to three hours and told her what to expect on this journey," says Kessler. "I just sat there watching how far she had come in her own pain. Her heart was still broken around Ben, but her heart was also healing around Ben."

Lisa Marie had become candid about her struggles in recent years, writing an essay for Grief Awareness Day about surviving beyond her son's death. She was also working on a memoir, and it's unclear if the book was finished at the time of her death.

In 2019 she wrote the foreword of Harry Nelson's book, The United States of Opioids: A Prescription for Liberating a Nation in Pain, about overcoming a secret addiction to prescription painkillers after the birth of her twins. With help from a therapist, Lisa Marie was able to get sober. "It is time for us to say goodbye to shame about addiction. We have to stop blaming and judging ourselves and the people around us. That starts with sharing our stories...I am proud. I've come a long way," she said in 2018.

Kessler also revealed Lisa Marie always found joy in her role as a mother. She was shattered by Benjamin's death, but she remained a fierce protector of her daughters, who will inherit Graceland through a trust. "With Riley and her [younger] girls, she was a lioness," says Kessler. "It was amazing to see her with her family."

Kessler said in their final conversation at Graceland, she was hopeful for the future:

"We sat there mostly in silence by Ben's grave. She showed me where she'd be buried someday, right across from her father's grave. I said, 'Not for a long time,' and she was like, 'Nope, I got a lot to do still.' She was very excited about what was coming up. She had such a challenging first and second act of life, and she was about to take on this third act that was so much about helping people."

Lisa Marie will be buried next to Benjamin at Graceland. A memorial will be held Sunday, and the Presley/Keough family has invited the public to attend.

What are the biggest red flag movies? You know -- the movies that, if someone lists them as favorites, means you should take a giant step away from them? Gawker released its list, and it includes:

Fury
The Virgin Suicides
Tenet
Greenberg

Several of its choices are obvious trollery, but the question is still important. What are the biggest red flag movies, ONTD?

What Lies in the Woods

Naomi Shaw used to believe in magic. Twenty-two years ago, she and her two best friends, Cassidy and Olivia, spent the summer roaming the woods, imagining a world of ceremony and wonder. They called it the Goddess Game. The summer ended suddenly when Naomi was attacked. Miraculously, she survived her seventeen stab wounds and lived to identify the man who had hurt her. The girls’ testimony put away a serial killer, wanted for murdering six women. They were heroes.

And they were liars.

For decades, the friends have kept a secret worth killing for. But now Olivia wants to tell, and Naomi sets out to find out what really happened in the woods—no matter how dangerous the truth turns out to be.

Mysteries of Thorn Manor

Elisabeth Scrivener is finally settling into her new life with sorcerer Nathaniel Thorn. Now that their demon companion Silas has returned, so has scrutiny from nosy reporters hungry for gossip about the city’s most powerful sorcerer and the librarian who stole his heart. But something strange is afoot at Thorn Manor: the estate’s wards, which are meant to keep their home safe, are acting up and forcibly trapping the Manor'’ occupants inside. Surely it must be a coincidence that this happened just as Nathaniel and Elisabeth started getting closer to one another…

With no access to the outside world, Elisabeth, Nathaniel, and Silas—along with their new maid Mercy—will have to work together to discover the source of the magic behind the malfunctioning wards before they’re due to host the city’s Midwinter Ball. Not an easy task when the house is filled with unexpected secrets, and all Elisabeth can think about is kissing Nathaniel in peace. But when it becomes clear that the house, influenced by the magic of Nathaniel’s ancestors, requires a price for its obedience, Elisabeth and Nathaniel will have to lean on their connection like never before to set things right.

Really Good, Actually

Maggie is fine. She’s doing really good, actually. Sure, she’s broke, her graduate thesis on something obscure is going nowhere, and her marriage only lasted 608 days, but at the ripe old age of twenty-nine, Maggie is determined to embrace her new life as a Surprisingly Young Divorc'ee™.

Now she has time to take up nine hobbies, eat hamburgers at 4 am, and “get back out there” sex-wise. With the support of her tough-loving academic advisor, Merris; her newly divorced friend, Amy; and her group chat (naturally), Maggie barrels through her first year of single life, intermittently dating, occasionally waking up on the floor and asking herself tough questions along the way.

Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone

Everyone in my family has killed someone. Some of us, the high achievers, have killed more than once. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but it is the truth. Some of us are good, others are bad, and some just unfortunate.

I’m Ernest Cunningham. Call me Ern or Ernie. I wish I’d killed whoever decided our family reunion should be at a ski resort, but it’s a little more complicated than that.

Have I killed someone? Yes. I have.

Who was it?

Let’s get started.

Pandora

London, 1799. Dora Blake, an aspiring jewelry artist, lives with her odious uncle atop her late parents’ once-famed shop of antiquities. After a mysterious Greek vase is delivered, her uncle begins to act suspiciously, keeping the vase locked in the store’s basement, away from prying eyes—including Dora’s. Intrigued by her uncle’s peculiar behavior, Dora turns to young, ambitious antiquarian scholar Edward Lawrence who eagerly agrees to help. Edward believes the ancient vase is the key that will unlock his academic future; Dora sees it as a chance to establish her own name.

But what Edward discovers about the vase has Dora questioning everything she has believed about her life, her family, and the world as she knows it. As Dora uncovers the truth, she comes to understand that some doors are locked and some mysteries are buried for a reason, while others are closer to the surface than they appear.

Independence: A Novel

India, 1947.

In a rural village in Bengal live three sisters, daughters of a well-respected doctor.

Jamini: devout, sharp-eyed, and a talented quiltmaker, with deeper passions than she reveals.

Theirs is a home of love and safety, a refuge from the violent events taking shape in the nation. Then their father is killed during a riot, and even their neighbors turn against them, bringing the events of their country closer to home.

As Priya determinedly pursues her career goal, Deepa falls deeply in love with a Muslim, causing her to break with her family. And Jamini attempts to hold her family together, even as she secretly longs for her sister’s fianc`e

This is How We Coup It: Disney Reveals Timeline of Bob Chapek’s Ousting + Iger's Return

Вторник, 17 Января 2023 г. 22:37 + в цитатник
You may remember, Thanksgiving week of 2022, when, on Sunday evening, Disney put out the statement of "That CEO? Oh, he's gone now, Iger is back.", to rampant fanfare.

But how did it happen?

Disney Reveals Timeline of Bob Chapek’s Ousting, Iger’s Return and Nelson Peltz’s Board Attempt in Latest Proxy Filing https://t.co/gRhILn3NpH

— Variety (@Variety) January 17, 2023

Insert a new player called Nelson Peltz (and if you're thinking "Hey, is he...?" Yes, he is) met Chapek in July and called Board Member Amy Chang to say he supported Chapek, which explains why he did not ask his dauhter to throw Chapek down the stairs.

Ike Perlmutter (Who is still there????), Chairman of Marvel, supported Peltz becoming a director of the board. Peltz did not hold an investment in the Company.

Ok, we're going to skip the corporate wheeling and dealing, blah blah blah, Just rememeber he was angling to be the successor to Susan Arnold. Pelmutter was angling with Chapek and Christine McCarthy, the woman who called guests fatasses in 2021, to encourage consideration of Peltz. It has long been noted by Disney Company Pundits that Arnold was attempting a coup to take Chapek's job, but the Board drama is new.

August: The Board goes "Who is this guy, and why does he want to be here? He doesn't really know what he's doing in this industry."
There's more corporate heads talking about the Chairman successorship.

Actual interesting stuff:
Board members met multiple times in Oct-Nov to go "Uh, what is Chapek thinking? What is he doing? I don't believe in his ability to run the company.". They were talking to the current Executive Chairman of NIKE."

When Disney's Fiscal year ended Nov. 8th, it was pretty dire. Peltz's company invests 500$m into Disney and he goes "I'm going to nominate a slate of nominees unless the company agrees to add me to the board.". Perlmutter keeps bothering people to get this man on the board.

The Board gets annoyed and they talk about it. In the meantime, well, they fire Chapek on Nov. 20th.
