Musical Mondegreen...

Some songs have clear lyrics, some songs have completely unintelligible lyrics, but in some songs it is also easy to hear one thing when they actually sing something else. These misheard lyrics are called "mondegreens", after the term was coined in 1954. Sylvia Wright wrote an article about an old Scottish ballad she had misheard as a child.

The lyrics sounded like:

They had slain the Earl of Murray,
And Lady Mondegreen.

It sounded like a song about a Lord and Lady who were killed, but in reality, the words are actually:

They had slain the Earl of Murray,
And laid him on the green.

The meaning is completely different, but it is an easy mistake to make, and it is pretty funny! The term "mondegreen" stuck, and soon people began finding them in other songs and films.

The most famous modern example of a mondegreen is from Jimi Hendrix's song 'Purple Haze'

It sounds like: `Scuseme while I kiss this guy.

But it really is:

'Scuse me while I kiss the sky.

One group, Queen, was rich with mondegreens. Their song 'Bohemian Rhapsody' is often misheard as 'Bohemian Rap City'. The lyrics in this song are often misheard too.

One line sounds like:

Is this the reallife? ls this

just Battersea?

But it really is:

Is this the reallife? Is this

            just fantasy?

           Another line sounds

He's just a poor boy from a pork factory

Spare him his life from this warm sausage tea.

But it really is:He's just a poor boy from a pork factory

Spare him his life from this monstrosity.

Here are some more monde-greens from other artists:

Madonna's 'Don't Cry For Me, Argentina'

It sounds like:

Don't cry for me, I'm the cleaner.

But it really is:

But it really is:

        Don't cry for me, Argentina.

      J. Lo's 'Jenny From The Block'

It sounds like:

Don't by fooled by the socks that I got

But it really is:

Don't be fooled the rocks that I  got

I guess the singers have got serious speech impediments.

I'm just a poor boy from the poor family

Queen
вместо
If I can only reach you
слышали
Yeah, f*cking only reach you :)

Soul of the woman was created below
So, love the woman created below
