This book presents an  investigation of the period in Chilean history coinciding with Allende’s presidential term (1970-1973).  The Author also provides a short analysis of the previous Chile’s history since the date of its independence, while making further focus on events immediately preceding Allende’s presidential term.  By the beginning of the 70s, Chile had already outlived several failed economic strategies, including the once suggested by the U.S. plan entitled as “revolution in liberty” (1964-1970) which had in mind creating a liberal economic competition to Cuba.  Indeed, by 1970 the Chilean left forces demonstrated their ability to introduce positive changes in country’s life.  In this investigation,  Author provides a detailed analysis of ground-breaking reforms by the leftist government which resulted in unprecedented positive changes but quite paradoxically,  led to the government coup and Allende’s death  The Author’s analysis is based on a great amount of documents (including U.S. sources) demonstrating the U.S. subversive activities which led to the coup in 1973 and followed by economic stagnation for dozens of years ahead (while a public mainstream opinion maintains the contrary).

Note: this author has also written  books about "History of Mexican Revolution"  and Murder of President Kennedy.
