Humans aren't innerly good.
We are not made for it. It's is not in our DNA.
We are programmed to be strong, fast and mean.

Being selfless, being good to others, being ready to sacrify yourself for the brighter future - it never helped animals to survive, it's still doesn't and it never will.
Because these are the laws of planet Earth.
Go against them and you will vanish.
Best case - you'll have one sentence about you in textbook (where tyrants get chapters about them), just to ensure that some fool will follow your example. For a greater good. Of those in power.
