Sterling Ditch was a 26.5 mile long ditch that was three feet deep, constructed by Chinese miners from June to December 1877 as part of the Sterling Mining Company. Gold was first discovered at Sterling Creek in 1854. The Sterling Ditch Trail today parallels the old ditch & is located near the ghost town of Buncom, Oregon. This view is near Tunnel Ridge through a lovely forest setting during evening hours.
