Please describe your style?
In general I don’t have any defined style. Mostly I wear casual. Classic and austere for me is quite boring but I should admit that if I feel like wearing something classic I will. It all depends on my mood, and of course situation and weather do matter. More frequently I dress in something bright and comfortable.
How often can we see you on the streets of Almaty?
I love walking. Every day I walk to my work and back so it`s not hard to meet me somewhere.
What do you think about street fashion in Almaty?
- I am sure on Almaty streets you can see people with perfect sense of style/ taste but mostly I think people are afraid to be different, uncommon, to be in the centre of attention, to wear bright and colorful clothes and to look pretentious.
Saying about style and fashion local people are carried away in particular with clothes but not with their body. They can look good but not take care of themselves. For example I have acquaintance who big paunches but wear very stylish shirts but it doesn’t suit them as the buttons are hardly up.
The same I can say about girls.
But still the situation is even better now than in the past years because we didn’t have chance to stand out against majority
Is there anything that you just don`t understand in style or outfit of Almaty people?
There`s no such thing. I think that if someone wears something really absurd and ridiculous it`s his own choice. Cause it`s not hurting anyone and it doesn`t bring harm to society. And if it`s not harming society than I`m ok with that, If the outfit doesn`t prevent to live life, work, learn that I`m ok.
Is there anything that you will never wear.
I think I`m not ready to wear business suit all the time but I understand that someday I will come to it. I don`t like classic costumes, shoes. And I will never wear tights with boots.
What`s your favorite item right now?
Non.
You lived in Prague for about 8 months, please describe style of people in Prague, Czech Republic.
In general young people in Prague don`t worry about outfit much. Average Prague person for me wears long t-shirt, jeans, sneakers, knapsack and a bottle of water. The thing that surprised me most was that people there pay o lot of attention to their hair. For example a girl that doesn`t care about her makeup and clothes may have really fashion showy hair.
Ok, and what is your advice to street-stylish people in Almaty. Well, I suggest to stop chasing brands and live in accordance with your wishes and heart. And don`t chase trends, because an item may be a latest fashion but it may not look good on you and you will look trendy but foolish. So dress with your heart. I`m for individuality.
