Sipunculus nudus is a species of unsegmented marine worm, also known as peanut worms. The body of the adult worm is around 15 centimetres (5.9 in) in length but can reach up to 25 cm (9.8 in) in some cases.

The worms is commonly found on subtidal zones of sandy shores to seabeds 900 metres (3,000 ft) in depth in temperate or tropical waters. The worms hides in sand borrows which it makes by itself during day and may extend tentacles out of the borrow to feed at night. Its diet consists of plant or animal tissue fragments and any surrounding sand it may ingest with it.

The species is collected and sold as a model organisms for various fields of science or a fish bait.

S. nudus is collected, cleaned of its innards, and eaten as a delicacy in parts of southern China such as the provinces of Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, and Fujian. The worms are local delicacies in Beihai, Guangxi where it is called Běihǎi shāchóng (北海沙虫, lit. "Beihai sandworm") and is cooked through various methods. It is also sold and exported as a dried seafood product. In Xiamen, Fujian the species is called tǔsǔn (土笋, lit. "earth bamboo shoot") and served as an aspic (tǔsǔn dòng, 土笋冻, lit. earth bamboo shoot aspic) in local restaurants.

The geoduck (Panopea generosa) is a species of very large, edible, saltwater clam in the family Hiatellidae. The common name is derived from a Native American word meaning "dig deep".

The geoduck is native to the west coast of North America, primarily occurring in Washington State and British Columbia. The shell of the clam ranges from 15 centimetres (5.9 in) to over 20 centimetres (7.9 in) in length, but the extremely long siphons make the clam itself very much longer than this: the "neck" or siphons alone can be 1 metre (3.3 ft) in length. The geoduck is both one of the largest clams in the world, and one of the longest-lived animals of any type. As adults they have very few predators other than humans.

These clams were not fished commercially until the 1970s, but in recent decades a huge demand from Asian markets has developed, and the clams are now farmed as well as being harvested in the wild. The clams currently sell for huge sums of money, which has made poaching a problem. Farming techniques are under scrutiny for their possible negative environmental impact.
