Japanese man Shoji Morimoto, aged 35,
came up with a peculiar and unpretentious way to make money.
Shoji is married and has a 4-year-old daughter.
He has a master's degree in physics from the University of Osaka.
After graduating, he worked for three years in a publishing company,
but he was bored there soon, and he quit.
In 2018, Shoji
announced: "A person who does nothing is rented out.
I rent myself out as a man who does nothing.
Is it difficult for you to enter the store alone?
Do you need someone who will stand in line or
Will you be careful of your place?
I can only do easy things. I'm never busy
always ready, and I won't do anything but eat,
to drink and respond with simple phrases."
The demand for his services was staggering.
He was invited to have lunch together, to pose for a photo
for Instagram, catching butterflies together in the park and attending concerts
et al. events.
Women hired him for joint shopping trips.
One lady took him with her on dates from
Internet. Someone hired a man to be discharged from the hospital.
People who are depressed hire him to speak out.
suicidal thoughts. One client hired him to
to talk about an attempted murder.
Shoji just listens to all this and responds monosyllabicly.
He can go to the restaurant, have a drink with the client. but
he doesn't judge anyone, he doesn't give his opinion, he doesn't give advice
or recommendations, and does not praise or give compliments.
The man now charges $100 an hour for
his unpretentious company.
On top of this, travel and food costs are paid.
On the day Shoji has 3-4 customers, and there is no break from them.
He has already published several books; for his motives was
filmed TV drama.
He now has more than 270,000 followers on Twitter.
"I'm not a friend or a friend," he says.
"There are no annoying things in me that are peculiar to a relationship.
But I can ease the feeling of loneliness for many people."
That's not what we're doing, gentlemen!
