Дневник

Воскресенье, 15 Марта 2015 г. 19:00 + в цитатник
Аноним все записи автора Robert Plutchik (21 October 1927 – 29 April 2006) was professor emeritus at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and adjunct professor at the University of South Florida. His research interests include the study of emotions, the study of suicide and violence, and the study of the psychotherapy process. Plutchik created a wheel of emotions in 1980 which consisted of eight basic emotions and eight advanced emotions each composed of two basic ones.

This wheel is used to illustrate different emotions compelling and nuanced. Like colors, primary emotions can be expressed at different intensities and can mix with one another to form different emotions.

Дневник

Spirit_of_Sky все записи автора Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland. It has a beautiful old city centre and a castle that lies on a hill above the city. In the castle you can see the statues of two Scottish heroes: Robert Bruce and William Wallace (known from the film Braveheart).

Edinburgh Castle

Several famous people were born in Edinburgh, for example Alexander Graham Bell (who invented the telephone), Tony Blair (Prime Minister) and Arthur Conan Doyle (who wrote the Sherlock Holmes stories). By the way, J. K. Rowling wrote her first Harry Potter book in an Edinburgh coffee-shop.

Airport Information.
aeroport (600x317, 85Kb)

The airport is your first stop before leaving on your dream vacation or trip. Generally speaking, you should arrive(прибывать) at the airport with plenty of time to spare. Don't arrive 10 minutes before your plane departs (отправляется).

Дневник

Вторник, 27 Мая 2014 г. 22:25 + в цитатник
Spirit_of_Sky все записи автора “I was born on the fourth of May and died three weeks later,” said Hollywood actress, Audrey Hepburn. Three
weeks after she was born, her heart stopped. Her mother saved her life with a little slap.

Audrey Hepburn was born in Brussels, Belgium in 1929. Her father was an English banker and her mother was
a Dutch baroness. Ms. Hepburn began her career as a graceful dancer and model. She also appeared in small
parts in European films. Hollywood soon became interested in the pretty actress.

In Hollywood, she appeared in over 30 films including; Roman Holiday (1951), Funny Face (1957) and Breakfast at Tiffany’s (1961).
She became famous for her thin figure, beautiful eyes, and quick intelligence.

From 1988, Ms. Hepburn worked for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF). This work made her
famous all over the world. On January 20, 1993, at the age of 63, Ms. Hepburn died of cancer in Switzerland.

Audrey Hepburn said,“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, it’s at the end of your arm. As you get
older, you must remember that you have a second hand. The first one is to help yourself, the second one is to
help others."

Short text about breakfast

Дневник

Суббота, 24 Мая 2014 г. 11:14 + в цитатник
Spirit_of_Sky все записи автора

As a general rule, I prepare breakfast for my family using an old pancake recipe that my grandma taught me years ago. I mix together the ingredients including flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.

In the meantime, I heat up a non-stick pan on medium heat on the stove. I pour some batter in the hot pan, cook it on one side until golden brown, and then cook the other side the same way.

At the dining room table, the family often spreads butter on the pancakes and pours syrup on them. I also cook up some scrambled eggs and bacon to go with the pancakes, and throw some bread in the toaster. Finally, I mix up some cold orange juice to go with the entire meal.

Recipe - рецепт
Flour - мука
Bowl - миска, чашка
Non-stick pan - антипригарная сковородка
Stove - плита
To pour - лить
To spread butter - намазать масло
Scrambled eggs - яичница
Entire - весь
