Я, обычно, на свой нормальный телефон говорю только автоответчиком. Потому что, сейчас, на него звонят, в основном, телемаркетеры. Это такие умные человеки, которые хотят вам что-то продать. Конечно же, с целью, вас обмануть. Можно написать еще короче, которые хотят вас обмануть.

Вот для них у меня и существует автоответчик.

Вчера, к примеру, мне пообещали от Государства $3 000 (три тысячи) долларов. Правда, при условии что мне уже за 60 и при еще каких-то там условиях. Я, все это, прослушал в он-лайн режиме и сразу же удалил. Не нужно мне $3 000.

But Time magazine’s Washington Bureau Chief Michael Scherer decided to engage what he suspected to be a health insurance related robocall, and when he accused the telemarketer, who identified herself as Samantha West, of being a robot, hilarity ensued.

“Yesterday, I asked you was there anything about Obamacare that’s real. Is there anything that’s real, that’s honest, anything? I haven’t found it yet,” Glenn said on radio this morning. “Today, I get up and I come in and I said, ‘Pat, have you heard the robocalls?’ And he said, ‘What are you talking about?’ I said, ‘Go to TheBlaze and look for the robots.’ It is both hysterical and terrifying at the same time.”

The robocall did not come from the Obama Administration itself, but rather a private Florida company, Premier Health Plans Inc., that is looking to sign people up for the Obamacare exchanges. Time is reporting it conducted several tests and follow-up calls before determining that ‘Samantha West’ is in fact a robot:

When Scherer asked point blank if she was a real person, or a computer-operated robot voice, she replied enthusiastically that she was real, with a charming laugh. But then she failed several other tests. When asked “What vegetable is found in tomato soup?” she said she did not understand the question. When asked multiple times what day of the week it was yesterday, she complained repeatedly of a bad connection.

Over the course of the next hour, several TIME reporters called her back, working to uncover the mystery of her bona fides. Her name, she said, was Samantha West, and she was definitely a robot, given the pitch perfect repetition of her answers. Her goal was to ask a series of questions about health coverage—”Are you on Medicare?” etc.—and then transfer the potential customer to a real person, who could close the sale.

В этом сезоне Portland Trailblazers удивляет всех. На данный момент, (сыграно всего 26 игр) Blazers имеет лучшую разницу выигранных и проигранных игр. 26  4.

Лучшая разница в NBA. В прошлом году Blazers выиграла на выезде всего 11 игр за весь сезон. В этом сезоне выигранных выездных игр уже 12. Проиграно только 2.

Кстати, когда я лежал в ЦИТО, в Москве, в том же ЦИТО лечился Arvydas Sabonis, один из первых, если не первый баскетболист из пост-СССР, который начал играть в NBA. И первая команда в NBA, в которой начал играть Сабонис, была, как раз, Portland Trailblazers. Болельщики команды Портланда до сих пор помнят его.

In 1992, after playing with CB Valladolid for three seasons, Sabonis joined Real Madrid and won two Spanish League titles and a Euroleague title in 1995. During the 1994–95 regular season with Real Madrid, he averaged 22.8 points, 13.2 rebounds, 2.6 blocked shots, and 2.4 assists per game.[4]

After the 1994–95 European season, Sabonis and Portland contacted one another about a move to the NBA. The question that surrounds Sabonis NBA career revolves around how good he could have been had he played in the NBA during his prime.[9][10] Sabonis was nearly 31 when he joined the Blazers, by which time he had already won multiple gold medals, suffered through numerous injuries and had lost much of his mobility and athleticism. In Bill Simmons Book of Basketball, Arvydas Sabonis the international player is idealized while Arvydas Sabonis the Blazer is described as lumbering up and down the court in what looked to be concrete Nikes and ranking just behind Artis Gilmore on the Moving Like a Mummy Scale.[11] In ESPNs David Thorpes view, Sabonis would be the best passing big in NBA history and possibly top 4 center overall, had he played his entire career there.[12] In Clyde Drexlers view, if Sabonis had been able to spend his prime in Portland next to the plethora of other Trail Blazers All Stars (Drexler, Terry Porter, Buck Williams and Cliff Robinson), Trail Blazers would have had four, five or six titles. (CNN)  Spies with surveillance agencies in the United States and United Kingdom may have spent time undercover as orcs and blood elves, infiltrating video games like World of Warcraft in a hunt for terrorists hiding in plain sight online.

Thats the finding of the most recent round of documents released by National Security Agency leaker Edward Snowden to British newspaper The Guardian.

Agents from the CIA, FBI and Pentagon and Englands Government Communications Headquarters infiltrated WoW and virtual world Second Life, as well as collecting information on the Xbox Live gaming network, according to the documents.

A 2008 NSA memo called online gaming a target-rich communications network where terrorists could communicate in plain sight.

None of the newly leaked documents, published this time in conjunction with ProPublica and the New York Times, mentioned specific terrorist activity foiled via the projects.

But apparently so many agents were engaged in playing video games for national security that a deconfliction group was created to make sure government agents werent accidentally spying on each other.

Unlike traditional console and desktop games in which players compete in a closed environment, massively multiplayer online games (MMOs) allow players from around the world to team up and play together, often in real time using in-game communication tools.

World of Warcraft is the most popular online role-playing game ever. It peaked at about 12 million subscribers in 2010 and still has more than 7 million, according to Blizzard.

Its unclear whether the agencies had surveillance capabilities within the massively multi-player games that normal players would not. A spokesman for Blizzard Entertainment, which owns World of Warcraft, told The Guardian it is unaware of any surveillance having taken place.

А люди?..

Сегодня умерла моя бывшая соседка. Мы были друзьями. Умерла от того, что те, кто за ней присматривал, не сказал ей вовремя, что у нее очень большие пролежни и что там образоавается большая рана.

Сама Лесли ничего не чувствовала и, соответственно, ничего не могла видеть. Все было на совести тех, кто помогал ей. Когда она поняла, что что-то не так& было уже поздно.

Весь последний месяц она все чувствовала. Все было очень болезненно.

Сегодня утром ее не стало&

До меня новости, как всегда, доходят в последнюю очередь. Сегодня, вот, узнал что актер, который снимался в фильмах под общим названием Fast & Furious, погиб в автомобильной катастрофе.

Actor Paul Walker, best known for his roles in the Fast & Furious action films, died from combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries in a car accident, the Los Angeles County coroner said on Wednesday.

Walker, 40, was a passenger in a fiery one-car crash on Saturday in Santa Clarita, California, about 30 miles northwest of Los Angeles. The driver of the Porsche Carrera GT, Roger Rodas, died of multiple traumatic injuries, the coroner said.

As a result of Walkers death, Universal Pictures has put filming Fast & Furious 73 on hold for an unspecified period. The film was slated to be released on July 11, 2014.

At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 72 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise, Universal Pictures, a unit of Comcast Corp , said in a statement.

The coroner ruled that both deaths were accidents and said that the injuries occurred when the car struck a fixed object.

Surveillance video shows the red Porsche crashing into a utility pole and bursting into flames about a minute later.

Toxicology reports on the bodies will be completed in six to eight weeks, the coroners office said.

Walker became a symbol of street-racing and car culture in his roles in the Fast & Furious series, which has grossed more than $2 billion at the global box office since its debut in 2001.

С одного телефона на другой.

Представьте картину: Закончил я переустанавливать все программы. Настроил аккаунты. Все, вроде, работает& Решил перезагрузить телефон.

И, вдруг& мой обновленный телефон уходит в цикл. Показывает загрузочный экран-картинку.. и перезагружается. И так снова, и снова, и снова.. Бесконечное число раз. Я, сначала, запаниковал. Это же потратил практически весь день на это и& такая картина.

Решил попробовать стереть кэш&  все получилось.

Потом я сказал Уф-ф!..

Сейчас только закончил мигрировать с одного телефона на тот, который очень хотел купить. И, даже, купил. Но& неудачно. В итоге,  тот отослал хозяину. Ebay вернул мне деньги, а я купил точно такой же, только дешевле и пока, вроде бы, лучше.

Что будет дальше?  Время покажет. Все равно новые модели телефонов появляются на рынке раз в полгода, если не чаще. Угнаться, практически, невозможно! С компьютерами, точнее, с апгрейдами оных, я уже завязал. Работает?  Пусть работает!

Но самое интересное, на мой взгляд, в самих комментариях на эту историю.

Pelletier was diagnosed with mitochondrial disease a few years ago and was able to live a normal life. In February, she got the flu and was taken to Boston Children’s Hospital to see a specialist. It was at that time the problems began.

According to the WTIC report, new team of doctors took over Pelletier’s case and immediately questioned her previous diagnosis and re-diagnosed her with ‘somatoform disorder’ – a mental illness. Her parents, Lou and Linda Pelletier, were not allowed to take their child out of the hospital and were instead escorted out by security. Within four days, they lost custody of Justina.

“That is absolutely wrong. I have a gag order? It’s my daughter. I’m not going to speak out for my daughter,” Glenn said. “It is an amazing story happening here in America. This is Russia. This is the stuff that used to happen in the Soviet Union, that we used to say, ‘Man, are we not blessed. That’s why this is an evil empire.’”

Glenn explained that this story is particularly important because it speaks to the question of rights. Yesterday, there was a story out of Tennessee involving a father who was arrested for trying to pick his kids up from school on foot instead of in a car. Today, we hear this story of parents who have been stripped of custody for disagreeing with their daughter’s doctor. We need to know our rights, and we need to continue to fight for them, or we are going to see a lot more stories like this one.

“Do you have a right? Who does your child belong to: You or the state? Is the state saying you can parent your child? Look, we will disagree on parenting stuff. We will disagree on healthcare choices. We are going to disagree. But if they’re not insane and they’re not abusing the child, I make the case that this is a kidnapping. I make the case that this is a re-education of this 15-year-old child, and it is absolutely wrong,” Glenn said. “Why does the state have the right to silence parents and put a gag order in when you say, ‘I want my child back. This is my child. You don’t have a right to do this.’ Why does the state have the right to gag you? Could you be gagged?”

Во всяком случае, пока вид спорта, который во всем мире признано называть футболом, в США этот вид спорта называется Soccer.

Не знаю всей истории, почему в США футбол называется не так, как это во всем остальном мире, а Football  определяет вид спорта, где играют в основном руками? Могу только строить догадки о том, что все от желания как можно дальше отдалиться от страны, с которой США когда-то боролась за Независимость. Независимость была получена, а после этого старались во всем быть оригинальными. Кое-что получилось, кое-что  не очень. Вот с соккером, на мой взгляд, получилось не очень.

Впрочем, я хотел написать о самом виде спорта. В США он понемногу начинает завоевывать популярность. Правда, игры пока не на самом высоком уровне, опять же, это только на мой взгляд. Комментаторы и специалисты продолжают познавать правила игры на ходу, по ходу самих игр. Точно также проходят и игры на кубок США или MLS CUP. Сегодня прошли игры второго тура или как это здесь называют LEG 23 на Кубок Америки в Eastern Conference Championship Чемионат Воcточной Конференции. Играли две команды Sporting KC (Kansas City) и Dynamo Houston. Победила Sporting KC со счетом 2 : 1. Это по результатам двух игр. Первая игра была с нулевой ничьей. Соответственно, Sporting теперь официально является Чемпионом в Восточной Конференции. Однако, игры за сам MLS CUP еще впереди. Завтра будет проведена игра второго тура между Portland Timbers и Real Salt Lake. Первую игру, в гостях, команда Портланда проиграла со счетом 4 : 2. Нужно сказать, что это первый год, когда команда Портланда играет в играх Playoffs. Завтрашняя игра пройдет дома, то есть, в Портладе.

А сегодняшнюю игру я смотрел и, восторга особого не было. Забитые голы были, ну как бы это выразиться, почти из безобидных ситуаций и с очень большими ошибками вратарей.

Однако, стадионы полны, американцы постепенно начинают находить красоту в Соккере.

И, как вы понимаете, завтра я буду болеть за Timbers. Хотя команда из Юты  очень серьезная команда.

Этот вопрос сейчас у всех наблюдающих за играми NBA. А виновником  все те же русские. Точнее,  новые русские. А если еще точнее, то  Михаил Прохоров.

Пару лет назад он приобрел себе баскетбольную команду. Команда тогда проживала в Нью-Джерси New Jersey и называлась New Jersey Nets. Прохоров перебазировал команду в известный всей Америке Бруклин Brooklyn и теперь команда называется Brooklyn Nets.

В этом году Михаил Прохоров решил сделать прорыв. Пригласил в команду много известных и хороших игроков. В частности,  Андрея Кириленко. В отношении которого NBA даже проводила внутреннее расследование, поскольку по контракту Кириленко получает подозрительно малые деньги и сомневающиеся потребовали расследоать сей непонятный факт, на предмет того, а не получает ли Кириленко где-то под столом. Расследование ничего не обнаружило. Но& вернемся к игрокам.

В Nets, действительно, очень много игроков большого калибра, правда, многим из них уже далеко за 30, то есть, для баскетбола возраст достаточно почтенный. Но, несмотря на возраст, звезды получили большие контракты и Михаил Прохоров сейчас тратит очень много денег только на налоги в NBA. Не знаю, что получится из всего этого эксперимента?.. Пока получается не очень хорошо. Команда проигрывает почти всем, кому только возможно.

Почему я об этом решил написать? Конечно же, потому что главной идеей во всем этом было написать о моей любимой Portland Trail Blazers. Сегодня команда закончила серию из четырех выездных игр. Все четыре игры команда выиграла. А одной из команд, у которой Blazers выиграла была та самая Brooklyn Nets.

Впрочем, чемпионат только начался и сыграно всего 12 игр. Команда Портланда выиграла 10 из 12-ти. Делать какие-то выводы пока рано. Но, пока есть небольшой повод для радости.

Чем я и воспользовался&

..Это то, что сейчас происходит в США. Недавно, ехал в такси. С шофером этим я уже знаком, он меня возит достаточно часто. Как только сажусь к нему в машину, первый вопрос: What is new?

Обычно я молчу,  он говорит. Парень не верит ни демократам, ни республиканцам. Старается быть где-то в центре, хотя получается у него это не очень. Поскольку Обама у власти, то демократам он верит меньше, чем республиканцам.

В этот раз он меня, буквально, огорошил новостью. По его словам, теперь в США даже электрические счетчики имеют возможность шпионить за гражданами. Не знаю, откуда он это взял. Видимо, очередные разоблачения Сноудена.

Впрочем, в итоге,  все нормально. На Ebay есть защита покупателя и это здорово!
