Tallipihan portti (fi) - Stable yard gate (google translate). Wikipedia: The Stable Yard is a wooden house complex built as a former stable for riding horses and carriages, located in Tampere on the former Finlayson factory site at Kuninkaankatu 4. Today it operates as a year-round shopping and event venue. The Stable Yard was built in the 19th century. Its buildings are richly decorated, representing the national romanticism of the late 19th century and Russian-Karelian architecture. The Stable Yard housed the horse stables of the Nottbeck family, and there were also outbuildings and apartments for servants, such as horse grooms and drivers. The block became a base for the factory's truck drivers in the early 20th century, when the Nottbecks no longer lived in the adjacent Finlayson Palace. At that time, the Stable Yard began to be called the Driver's Quarter. The buildings in the Stable Yard were inhabited until the 1960s. The area fell into serious disrepair before the city purchased it in 1995. The stable yard was renovated into a tourist attraction in the late 1990s.
