The Kitchen was built during the reign of King Jo~ao V, first half of the century. XVIII. It is divided into 3 spaces, Barbecue, Oven and food preparation area. It has an exit to the Gothic cloister, contemporary of the first phase of the construction of the Palace and which contains elements from much earlier times that will have been transferred from the primitive castle alcove.

This large dining room was built by Queen D. Maria I at the end of the 18th century, since before there was no space with this specific function. The five shutters lead to a balcony-terrace facing the garden, whose box also dates from the same period. The ceiling is covered with canvas painted with mythological motifs, showing Neptune. Two large armored tapestries, by Aubusson, narrate episodes from Alexandre's Life. The French dressers of the 18th century, decorated with magnificent golden bronzes, are signed by Mondon; flank them done in Tavira. On the floor, arranged on the tops of the room, Caucasian handwoven rugs. The aquariums and straws in blue Chinese porcelain with reserves are from the reign of Qianlong (1723-1795) on the comfortable terrines of the Companhia das Indias. The golden bronze table surtout arranged on the table is signed Thomire `a Paris and was purchased by D. Maria Pia for Real Paco do Porto. In the displays placed along the south wall, there are some of the best ceramic pieces. The wooden faience exhibits Portuguese faience from the 17th to the 19th centuries. In the glass showcases, of the largest set in Portugal of Italian majolica from the 16th to the 18th centuries, the following are noteworthy: "istoriatos", gomil and lavender dishes with brutish "albarelli" or bowl with fruits.

At the end of the 19th century, there was the remodeling of the New Rooms, for rooms of the princes heirs D. Carlos and D. Am'elia, by the French decorator Negrier. After an ante-camera you arrive at the Queen's Room. The furniture is complete and of maple wood in the style of the time, made in France.

Its designation commemorates the fact that the brother of D. Jo~ao IV, the infant D.Duarte (1605-1649), who after beating himself in the service of the Emperor of Germany during the Thirty Years War, was betrayed and closed in Milan fortress, for the revenge of Philip IV of Spain. In prison he died, all diplomatic efforts were made to free him. The Portrait of Infante D. Dute, displayed on the fireplace, was painted by Jo~ao Reis in 1951. The tapestry that represents the Roman general Decius Mus saying goodbye to his Lictores, was woven in Brussels in the 17th century, by the tapestry Franz van Hecke, on a card by Peter Paul Rubens. The two royal marble busts represent, on the right, Queen Elisabeth of Belgium (1876-1954), by Victor Rousseau (1865-1954), on the left, Queen D. Am'elia, by Tom'as Costa (1861-1932). The furniture of pau-santo, dates from the 17th and 18th centuries; on the buffets there are two sculptures by Clodion (1734-1814) Fauna and Fauneza.
