A collapse sink over a heavily covered natural bridge at Red Tape Cave in the Medicine Lake Volcano area of Northern California. Besides a tight crawl leading to a limited space, there is not much to see within the cave.

Green recreational space. Park where the Baroque style is very evident in the axes and stairs, as well as in the sculptural elements. The Parque de Santa Cruz, is for its lush vegetation and abundance of waters, a pleasant refuge from the hustle and bustle of the city. The most numerous species there is the laurel from India.

The new Cathedral has been installed since 1772 in the old church of the Jesuit College, behind the Faculty of Medicine. Originally, the Col'egio dos Jesu'itas (Col'egio das Onze Mil Virgens), which had been installed in Coimbra in 1541. The church began to be built in 1598, following a project of the official architect of the Jesuits in Portugal, Baltazar 'Alvares, influenced by the church of S. Vicente_de_Fora "Monastery of S~ao Vicente de Fora de Lisboa. The works were very slow and the cult only started in 1640, with the temple being inaugurated only in 1698.

The Cloister of the Old Cathedral is a construction of transition from Romanesque to Gothic. Built during the reign of D. Afonso II (1218-1223) it was however programmed since 1176. It would be D. Afonso II who would give a greater incentive to the construction of the Cloister, because he intended that the remains of Chancellor Juli~ao Pais be deposited there. It will be in this Cloister that Portugal's first episcopal school will function. It is also here that there is the tomb ark of D. Sizenando Davides, conqueror of the city in 1064 and responsible for the construction of numerous churches in the Diocese of Coimbra. It is the same D.Sizenando who founded the Cabido da S'e in 1080. In each gallery there are two twin round arches surrounded by a larger pointed arch. Serving as a transition between the pointed arch and the Romanesque arch are rosettes, all of them distinct.

Overlooking the impressive Giant Crater, which spans 1/4 mile across & contains several cliff bands (but in this view is doesn't look as impressive). The setting here is almost exactly how you would imagine modern day Hawaii's Kilauea, a long eruptive history w/ vast pahoehoe lava flows that extend nearly 40 miles south, traceable on Google satellite view, containing plenty of lava tubes & ice caves along the way. The main magma conduit, along w/ nearby Chimney & Double Hole Craters, are dated to roughly 12,430 years ago. Only incense cedars & ponderosa/western pines appear to have rooted foothold on the rough landscape.
