Im Jahr 1715 liess der Graf von Hanau, Johann Reinhard III (1665-1736) in der Bulau, hinter der Klosterruine Wolfgang, das Jagdschloss Wolfgang errichten. Viele Jahre sp"ater installierten die Preussen hier eine Oberf"orsterei und f"orderten den Aufbau einer staatlichen Samendarre. In den Jahren 2017-2020 wurde das Haus umfangreich saniert. Heute ist es wieder Wirkungsst"atte des Forstamtes Hanau-Wolfgang.  Micha

Having visiting the followed the wall to the amphitheatre, the setting winter sun meant it was time to head home. The quickest route back is from Manor Farm where a wide track cuts straight from the East Gate to the West Gate. We left the farm buildings as the sun went golden, beautiful.

The amphitheatre was a place of entertainment for the people of Calleva Atrebatum and could be accommodate between 3,500 and 7,250 spectators. It was built on the eastern edge of the town between AD 55 and 75. Earth was excavated to create to create a circular arena which was enclosed by a wooden wall. The soil was reused to form circular banks and terraces. This 360 photo was taken on a bright December afternoon.

On a bright December afternoon we went for a walk along the remaining walls of Silchester Roman Town, Calleva Atrebatvm. The site is very popular with families going for a walk, and educational too. This 360 is taken at the ruins of the northern wall.
