The houses overlooking the port of Portovenere are very characteristic: tall, narrow with strong colored facades (red and yellow) known as Palazzata a Mare erected in defense of the highest area of Portovenere. Boats leave for the Cinque Terre and the three islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto every day from the port.

Portovenere is a small Ligurian town near La Spezia. It is famous for its beauties: the castle, ancient houses and churches, islands with many caves. Together with the Cinque Terre, the territory of Portovenere has been included among the heritages of humanity.

In local dialect, Kharanagh means where the sun rises or the birthplace of the sun. Due to its location, the weather in this village is much pleasant than Yazd. Apart from the beautiful nature of this village, while you are in Kharanagh, there are several historical tourist attractions that you can visit. In the following, you have a chance to know Kharanagh Castle, Kharanagh Menar Jonban, and Kharanagh caravanserai. Kharanagh Castle is another attraction of Kharanagh and it dates back to Sasanian dynasty (about 1800 years ago). This adobe castle was one of the largest residential castles in Kharanagh. This is a very special castle and the reason is that it used to be a place for misleading theaves and bandits. Due to the castle maze-shape alleys, an outsider would have been completely confused facing these ways. they called it Wolf Alleys.

The Alamannenmuseum Ellwangen features artifacts from an excavation near the small city of Lauchheim, this particular panorama was shot inside a recreated granary now situated inside the courtyard of the museum.

High above the city of Ellwangen we can have a first overview over the city and the surrounding landscape. From this point on the fortification of the castle we can easily spot the city centre by searching for the bell towers.

The Clear Lake Hills are located east of Newell, California & are a barren ridgeline of hills that rise over 1,000 feet above the surrounding plains. This is the first false summit which is about 500' lower than the farthest & highest summit to the north. Views of Clear Lake Reservoir, Double Head Mountain, & the vast juniper plains.

Mammoth Cave is a lava tube near Tionesta, California. I've been here about five times & have never fully explored it, though I've heard it has about 1.59 miles of passages. The cave itself has high ceilings initially but then it becomes a continuous crawling maze of intricate passageways through wet mud & ropy pahoehoe. This is the east end from the junction room. All the small holes in the sand are from water droplets falling off the small lavacicles on the ceiling - each droplet carries small amounts of sand particles which as you can see has filled up a lot of the passageways. A visit in January 2015 I got extremely disoriented deep inside & lost for about 45 minutes as I kept repeating my tracks before remembering that the entrance is higher up & the cave itself gradually slopes downwards in elevation. From there I was able to find my way out. This next time that I visited seven months later, there was a dead dog exactly where I had gotten lost last time, there was nothing but dog tracks everywhere & it eventually died of starvation in there.
