The observation platform near the top of Philadelphia City Hall Tower offers splendid views over the city, but has limited standing room. On a crisp Fall day in 2012 I was lucky enough to book it exclusively for an hour for a photo shoot, and they let me open the windows and stick out a camera on a 12 foot pole. I took full spheres from the North, East, South and West windows, and after stitching them, combined the 4 outward facing hemispheres into this "flying Willy" view. The name honors Willy Kaemena, who popularized this technique for making simulated aerial images from the tops of tall buildings.

The houses overlooking the port of Portovenere are very characteristic: tall, narrow with strong colored facades (red and yellow) known as Palazzata a Mare erected in defense of the highest area of Portovenere. Boats leave for the Cinque Terre and the three islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto every day from the port.
