Tumalo Falls is a well-known waterfall located west of Bend, Oregon as Tumalo Creek plunges 97' over a basalt cliff.  Downclimbing to the base of the walls, one can actually walk behind, though expect a good spray of water.

View from the top of Carpenter Mountain (elev. 5,349') near McKenzie Bridge, Oregon.  The summit is adorned w/ a historic fire lookout built in 1935, replacing a former one that was built in 1917.  Rain was coming in shortly, so the views were starting to diminish, however one can see a good view of the High Cascades from Mt. Hood down to Diamond Peak, including Mt. Jefferson, Three Fingered Jack, Mount Washington, & the Three Sisters.  Wolf Rock, the largest monolith in Oregon, is also visible in the backdrop.  The lookout itself is perched high up w/ steep drops over old basalt columns.

Skylight Cave is a lava tube location near Sisters, Oregon, mapped at 1,017 feet in length.  The entrance has a metal ladder leading down w/ two directions to go.  The east passage leads to this cathedral-like ceiling where there are three natural skylight openings, to which gives the cave its name.  Light rays often stream down the openings at various angles but only during a certain time of the day can one witness all three rays descending down in near uniform appearance, creating this surreal appearance.  Looking up, the skylights are actually the bottom of three hornitos, vents where lava erupted out & created surface conical mounds called spatter cones.  Several thousand years old now, the spatter cones have eroded but underground the cave is still well-preserved.  You could think of this view as a long fissure, like those in Iceland or Hawaii, except standing where the magma would have drained through.  Within this cave are other high recessions in the ceilings known as cupolas suggesting that perhaps there were more spatter cone vents however they sealed the moment the lava cooled.  Look behind to see light from the main entrance about 300 feet away.
